Do you think Peter Vlandys would accept the RSPCA dictate to him how to run the thoroughbred industry?

I'm sure everybody appreciates the Alliances time and effort, but imo they have been far too timid. The one perfect example of their approach was when they went to the meeting with Baird and his cronies and basically begged to allow us to continue but with massive restrictions. And allowing the RSPCA to be involved in how our sport continues is just another example.

A very succinct and perceptive summary, Simon. I'm thinking very similarly mate.

I Bet V'Landy's didn't think we could get this far the grub his turn will come & i can't wait.

Come On GBOTA & Alliance DEMAND what we all want not just a few DEMAND DEMAND DEMAND it's our chance to Hit them where it Hurts. No pussy footing around.

I agree with you Shannon

Something had to be done fast and the guys who stepped up to unite the industry together at Wentworth Park on 10th July 2016, have so far done a pretty good job in a short space of time

I suppose we can always nit pick and say some things could have been done better, but the bottom line is that they got Baird/Grant to announce a back flip in a short time frame

I agree with many here, that I have concerns regarding the make up of the panel that will decide the future of the sport especially with Steve Coleman of the RSPCA having a seat.

Also a Chief Vet that has had no representation in the greyhound industry sitting there as well.

Why couldn't we have the likes of Peter Yore, Liz Brown, John Newell, Brian Daniels, Chris Papantanio or Linda Corney there as the Vet to represent the industry?

But like you Shannon, I believe the mix is good, the Alliance is not all GBOTA as some people think, it is representing the whole of the State's clubs who in turn represent their members.

Also agree with Glenn, once the structure of the industry is decided then we really need to have a Board and a CEO in charge, preferably a suitably skilled and experienced person, who does know how the greyhound industry works.

SANDRO,in case you were not aware PETER YORE SAID HE WOULD GO ON THE PANEL BUT SURPRIZE SURPRIZE HE WAS NOT ACCEPTED.

I mean these pigs tried to destroy many peoples lives and send many people into financial disaster or even losing their livelihoods and their homes and bankrupt FFS. Not to forget quite a few were on suicide watch for gods sake.

You have to go for the throat with these people cause they have teams behind them helping to destroy the greyhound industry and it doesn't cost them a cent and they don't care who they crush.
