It means the Liberals are shoring up their stocks after so many unpopular moves by Baird and his cronies
But the mail about Gladys is that she is a LEFTIE and you all know how they are against so much in our way of life ... and that includes greyhound racing
what will stop Gladys coming in and saying the decision to reverse the ban on greyhound racing was Baird's and she will not stand by that
YES, it would be the end of her politically
but remember all of you, as it stands right now, the legislation to ban greyhound racing in NSW still stands and as of July 1 2017 this industry will close.
I agree the Liberals would be stupid not to repeal the legislation but just when is this going to happen?
It hasn't happened yet
it took them a week to ban us, but it has been almost four months now since the end of the ban was announced ... and still no change

but I for one totally agree with all your sentiments
isn't it nice to see Baird (and Grant) subjected to the sort of humiliation we had to endure back in July 2016.

whoever advised Baird to ban greyhound racing has nailed him to the cross. they should be held accountable as well. Baird did not make the decision himself ... he made the decision with the support of every Liberal and National Party member in parliament (except the glorious three)
this is what EVERYONE needs to remember come the 2019 state election

don't fall for the "rubbish" new leaders of the Liberals and Nationals will come out with
they don't want us ... we don't want them

I have no idea why her being "left" would have her agreeing with a greyhound ban. I know Labor members in Orange that are so far left they wont shop at any of the big supermarkets, wont deal with the big banks etc etc. They were the first to come out in protest of the ban. The ban meant loss of jobs and peoples livelihoods, the main thing left wing people fight for.

Fantastic news for the Greyhound Industry and for NSW.

My thoughts go out to all the many innocent people he caused heartache, stress and financial difficulty to. Thank God his dictatorship is over.

don't matter, how you look at it the government is on notice and they are walking on eggshells baird was always going to quite it was just a question off when, by doing it now these poor simple folks think everyone is going to forgive and forget what this thing has done to the industry and other industries bring on 2019 to vote these dill's out forever

He stated in his press-conference this morning that the main reasons behind today's announcement was family....which is fair if it's true.
Well both his mother & father are very ill & his sister has a reoccurring cancer problem.
While I wouldn't wish the above on anybody, I must say that the lord works in strange ways.

he had to quit cause he likely hasn't slept for 6 months without sleeping pills.
he tried to bully people and it backfired in his face.

I hope he has nightmares about greyhounds every night for the rest of his life.

And I hope that if anybody who has a pet greyhound and lives near Mike Baird that they walk their dog past his house day and night to remind him of what bought his political career down.

Well said Tony-Mister Data-But what an actor in his exit speech-if he does give a damn for his direct family they are alone as he doesn't give a damn for any other NSW's families.
His legacy will be the hundreds of public land trees he ordered pulled down & rezoning the same waterfront public lands for his benefactors benefit.
Let's hope some of his overseas contracts can be turned around so that decent Australian families can regain their rightful living.

Spot on Steve: Baird showed no emotion or compassion towards the few thousand families, who lives he turned upside down in July 16.
I feel as one of 1.5million NSW taxpayers outside the Metro area, i'm happy to see the back of him, and his My way or the Highway style of Premiership. Billion dollar contracts given with no Tendering! smacks of graft, Sacking Councils and replacing with your employee's, smacks of graft, Sacking ICCAC, no internal investigations, smacks of graft. Greyhounds, Tafe, Fisheries, Land acquisitions, Light Rail Blow-out. No Mike, you failed the people but Multiplex, Macquarie Bank, and many Large Developers are indebted to you for life. Perhaps the Alliance had wind of this and kept quiet until it happened...well one can only hope that's the reason for their silence.

Now would be the right time for the Alliance to muscle up and not allow the new leader to get warm in the seat and challenge them to overturn the law.It would take brave or extremely stupid politician to go against us now- oops those two clowns are gone so let's see how our self proclaimed leaders deal with this now.

ABSOLUTELY!!!!!

I have had 3 meetings with Gladys. She has openly admitted to knowing very little about greyhound industry. I've found her very inquisitive, open & humble towards learning about the industry when it was a hot topic.
I don't think she will ban it at all or support anyone who feels the need to ban it. She also lives in the same street as me so I look forward to a few informal chats on our morning walks with the dogs.

I think she will have her hands full against Andrew Constance in the race for leadership & he is 100% against a ban on greyhound racing.

Glenn: If Gladys gets the top job! can you on behalf of the whole Greyhound Industry of NSW, ask a simple impromptu question
Q. How many Members of the Opposition will sit on your front bench? Mike in his wisdom appointed Steve Colman of the RSPCA, opposed to all things Greyhound Racing, to sit on his advisory panel on Greyhound Racing NSW future.
Gladys needs to gain support, and confidence from within the Industry. Appoint a professional Board, and rid us of incumbent deadwood. (anti Greyhound Appointee's). We know who they are.
Would have sent a PM Glenn , but we have never met . Cheers

Sorry the article above is not available to most members as it subscriber only article...

Basically what it says is Mike Baird has NO INTENTION of resigning his position as Premier and the ban will continue despite all the opposition and protests because it is the RIGHT DECISION.

Well obviously it wasn't as the inside pressure has forced him to offer his resignation before being publicly axed by his own team...what does the next leader have to offer, we are about see and hopefully it is all favourable to us!

And what other decisions has the co%kbreath made that has affected thousands of lives. Take this Pr$ck down

All due respect, the NSW greyhound industry hasn't received a 'fair go' in thirty years that I know. They protect the giddy ups all of the time ! We have had the ICA, the Cameron Report, the Parliamentary Enquiry, the Special Commission (McHugh Report) Enquiry.
.
The Gov't is a joke !! We have had to fight every day to be sure they were listening. We fought back back at Orange. Grant and Baird as well as the LNP Coalition stood up and finally took notice. It's one step we took to stay away from the grave. One step !! Let's keep advancing forward.
