Being hearing adds on the radio for "The Championship" for months and today every second add is for The Championships but I have not heard 1 add for Greyhound Racing in NSW's Holy Grail "THE GOLDEN EASTER EGG".
We have the best of the best of dogs on show tonight from all around Australia and not even a whisper on the radio.
It's a bloody disgrace that such blatant neglect of our sport in such a vital time is allowed to happen.
GRNSW needs a clean out and somebody put in to run it who will show passion that is equal to the level of its participants.

Good Luck to all runners tonight.

Mark is spot on,sadly i have said this for year's now,who know's,maybe one day, they might realise that in any business, key marketing strategies & promoting, help's to build a stronger, successful & more profitible industry, more positive exposure in media advertising should be at the fore front in general,& definitely more so when one of the very best group 1 races in the world is on,i wouldn't mind betting that if you asked 100 non greyhound people the question;" What The Golden Easter Egg" is,i think at least 99 would say that it is what the bloody easter bunny leaves on some lucky kid's doorstep at Easter time,& that's because there isn't enough exposure.Come on GRNSW,sometimes you have to spend money to make money, get our product out there, buy more advertisement space in print media & definitely, buy some free to air tv advertising slots,it doesnt have to be every day, but a few ad's thursday to saturday certainly wouldn't hurt our industry, who know's it might just get more bum's on the granstand seat's.

Sorry guys,

We complain that we don't get our fair share of TAB revenue, but then expect us to have the same advertising budget as the Thoroughbreds.

Personally, I believe our authorities match / beat the Harnesses with a more limited budget.

Rob,i don't think it is complaining, more so stating fact's mate on both of those subject's,& surely, don't you think that GRNSW could put aside a small percentage of all money recieved, including what the industry participants contribute to the industry,& budget or do some sort of costing at least,so they can include much needed advertising in the print/television media in their yearly expenditure??

Rob

Agree 100% with your first point.

Second point, not so....we don't have anyone steering the ship...haven't got nearly a year now. Probably shows our resilience that we still are ticking along, providing full race meetings despite all that's been thrown at us. I think that shows how strong an industry we have here in NSW.

Imagine what we could do if we got ;
1)Our rightful market share of wagering turnover
2)An unbiased govt
3)Industry leaders that cared about our product & know how to look after it

If we had all of these 3 points we would be a even bigger threat to the gallops. We have 22% without even trying.

Sorry boy's i'm getting of topic a bit. But yesterday in the Sun Herald Sun 2/april. Article on NSW Country Racing, states V'Landys has people on the ground assessing flooding. And offering Financial support to effected trainers! They have a "Hardship Fund" available
We spruik "World's Best Practices" Do we have a similar fund??
Peter V certainly knows how and when to work the Media!
Ask our Racing Minister, and GRNSW what they are doing to aid, Dog trainers in the same circumstances?

Terry, we shouldn't have to ask them. They should be doing it.

Mark: Where does all the MONEY go from these abandoned meetings?
Certainly not in the area's that they were abandoned! Reading in the Recorder last week, looks as though Coonamble was closed on STAT's?? incredible! adding insult to injury, the President of the club was informed by @mail! Look i'm confused, Disheartened, Disorientated, with the way GRNSW is heading. Bred my last litter, no future any more in this be leagued Industry. Victory for Mike!!

.
We don't expect the same budget, just to advertise it. The same with GBOTA. It's their major race.
