Jamie Dart Terminated Posted on August 23, 2017 by Christine qric23 August 2017The employment of Queensland Racing Integrity Commission Steward Jamie Dart has been terminated, effective today. Mr Dart was stood down from duties in early November last year, when serious allegations were made against him. QRIC Commissioner Ross Barnett said a protracted and independent external investigation has proven serious workplace misconduct while Mr Dart was employed at Racing Queensland and the nature of the misconduct left him with no alternative but to dismiss Mr Dart. Mr Dart was announced as QRIC Director of Stewarding and Licensing in October 2016 prior to the formal process under the Public Service Act for appointment to the role being completed. Normally the remaining steps in that process are routine but when it became apparent that an investigation was required, the official appointment process was put on hold and he was suspended on full pay, Mr Barnett said. The Commission has installed several temporary Directors of Stewarding to cover the role during the investigation period, including Senior Steward Ian Brown, Senior Steward Martin Knibbs and Licensing and Registration Manager Ali Wade is currently in her second stint in the role. QRIC has been fortunate to have capable people who have all stepped up to take on this important role and I thank them for their commitment. A new recruitment process will be held in the near future to appoint a permanent QRIC Director of Stewarding.
