It was like raiding the bingo hall I'm 55 and was probably the youngest there .Have no issues with it I just think police resources are better used elsewhere

Obviously the "outcome" of the "sting" / blitz operation will be important. No-one wants to see their opposing Trainers "gaining" or "trying to gain an unfair advantage" ... HOWEVER, some preliminary comments on the Press Release :
(1) The headline is sensationalist and - in my opinion - deplorable; in that it implies guilt. What happened to a presumption of innocence?
(2) There is a HUGE difference between someone infringing the rules (particularly if it's a relatively small 'infraction'), and someone who is "cheating"!
(3) As Mick has alluded to, the timing is rather 'interesting'. A Sunday 'chosen' to do a near-100% swabbing blitz (complete with penalty rates, we assume?). Obviously we are not privy to the "intelligence" provided to QRIC / the Task Force, BUT I would be amazed (shocked, horrified, aghast ...) "if" some betting Syndicate was trying to meticulously "rort" a relatively meagre and very much run-of-the-mill Sunday meeting.
(4) I was always taught to be respectful; HOWEVER - equally and critically - I also believe that respect should be a two-way street. The tenure of the Release (and some of the quotes listed therein) seems rather accusatory and disrespectful. Reading the allegations (again, I note these are currently ALLEGATIONS; not even charges as yet I assume?), there doesn't (yet) read as if there's anything too earth-shattering, no? Ok, the mention of a "syringe" could conjure up all sort of images; BUT let's wait to see what is really "found". So far, it seems QRIC is keen to "stick their chests out" by rolling out in force, and with some muscle, clearly. I wonder what "badge" they will get to pin on at a later time?
If - and it's a big "IF" - a Trainer/s are found to have breached the LAW (or serious offences under the Rules), THEN I - like many - would expect the full force of the Stewards; law makers; and enforcement team to come down on them. But let's let due process run its course, shall we? It wouldn't be the first time QRIC (or in the 'old' days, RQ) has gone off half-cocked; sometimes even earning the wrath of QCAT and the Courts!

Agree totally Anthony. I would have thought that a Thursday night would have been the night to put this plan into action.

This will be of major interest and u would have thought this would have been done in NSW after the ban was lifted. This is timed right after announcing the prize money changes too.Lets hope all protocols are done correctly and with respect.

After dramas with harness racing and the proactive work involving the greyhounds, I hope QR will look laterally and perform an operation on the TBreds in the not too distant future. After all, the money spent on horse flesh is astronomical compared to the dish lickers. Bigger risks create bigger challenges for a simple few.

This was an exercise carried out partly to justify QRIC's existence and in part, to deflect from the criticism it has been receiving from one Archie Butterfly and numerous others on another website called letsgohorseracing about incompetent stewarding at the thoroughbred and harness meetings. As one contributer to the letsgohorseracing site said over the incompetent stewarding at the two horseracing codes, they will always conjure up an issue with the greyhounds as a sacrificial lamb. Their actions on Sunday was such an occasion.
