I disliked this post just because everyone else has so far ....That's the truth JQ ...

I find it a laugh when people get dislikes it's like a game show mentality ....

Follow the flock ...Micky funny how many are lost ....I like to get dislikes over Likes to be honest JQ

I think Johnno holds the record for the most dislikes but then again i could be wrong
and you don't see him complaining ....

I gave you your dislike just so you can go to sleep peacefully ok.

Like/dislike is ridiculous.

The reason I like this forum is because we put our real names to our comments, apart from a guy in SA who has been using a fake account for years.

This like/dislike rubbish is a waste of space.

Tony,

Funny, I was about to write to you about this.

My view is that like/dislike is a waste of space because it allows multiple voting and it is used an alternative to respondents inserting a short piece saying what they think and why, which would promote better discussion. It now has the same effect as surveys using leading questions to better suit someone with an agenda - stuff which is rife today in the community. IE fake news. Results are as useful as the ABC querying its listeners as to whether they think the ABC is the best thing since sliced bread.

Dump it.

Further, G-D says no to abusive comment, yet it occurs all the time. Moderators are not following their own rule book.

Hi Bruce the moderators do not read every post they act on reported posts. If you see any abusive post please hit the report button and the moderators will make a decision to remove it or not. Moderators are doing a great job and are following the rules.

Hi Jonny, none of us can see who likes or dislikes a post. I suppose the I.T. guys could find it if it was necessary.

Wouldn't it be great if we could see who hides behind the like/dislike button you'd get a better profile of people
Cheers Dave

A lot of the dislikes wouldn't be there if it showed who put them there.

Mal, maybe the "like" was from the person Tony was addressing?
Maybe he "liked" the idea of TG wanting a convoy with him?
Maybe it was someone who is familiar with WHY Tony wanted to talk with this person and thought it a good idea?
Who knows...

There is a big difference between dislike (feel distaste for or hostility toward) and disagree(have or express a different opinion), so the buttons definitely need to be changed to agree/disagree imo.

Also Tony, I wldn't mind partly agree/disagree buttons as some posts contain much information which I may 80% agree with but disagree with a minor part.

I have nothing against peoples names being listed in the like/ dislikes but can see how that situation wld likely be abused and create much work for mods.

Thank you for your consideration Tony.

I think the likes/dislikes only cater to those who don't know how to be open with their views without being personal or hide due to criticism from bullies being rife on this site.
It doesnt' affect me personally as I only want to contribute & have an elephant hide.We have a lot of really good knowledgeable contributors in Greyhound Data Forum & all have a right to put their ideas/views forward without personal attacks.
I personally would like to see the likes/dislikes area removed & a combined effort to look forward by all contributors.
