I think the likes/dislikes only cater to those who don't know how to be open with their views without being personal or hide due to criticism from bullies being rife on this site.
It doesnt' affect me personally as I only want to contribute & have an elephant hide.We have a lot of really good knowledgeable contributors in Greyhound Data Forum & all have a right to put their ideas/views forward without personal attacks.
I personally would like to see the likes/dislikes area removed & a combined effort to look forward by all contributors.

Grant,

I agree/disagree (like/dislike) with some of your thoughts.
I personally post a fair bit on here and I also like/dislike on here too.
The like/dislike button has no bearing whatsoever on whether I post or not.
I don't comment on every single post I like/dislike because I simply don't feel it is warranted nor do I feel I can contribute any further to that particular comment...I might simply like or dislike that idea.

I totally agree with you that everyone should be able to post opinions without getting bullied, but there is sometimes a fine line between opinions and agendas.
There are SOME people on here, Grant, who are very mischievous and agenda driven, so much so, their agendas are counter-productive for the industry...that is not a good thing.
For those few people that abuse the right for fair play, I'm of the opinion that they should be shown up for what they are...bugger them.

The problems we all face go much deeper than a bloody "like/dislike" button.
Those who contribute to the problems with selfish, distorted, egotistical, damaging, and downright farcical agendas should be banished to Greenland where nothing grows...they'd probably stuff that up too.

P.S. I have never liked/disliked as many posts as I have on this thread.
To be honest, I'm finding it hilarious and in keeping with the title, I'm guessing many are finding the same.
Great entertainment and I take none of it too seriously.

I bet both of you feel crap tomorrow, shake hands and get over this for the good of both of you.
Carrying on like this it does no one any good take a chill pill and enjoy the dogs, forget tonight and wake up tomorrow happy, if you wouldnt speak like this face to face dont write it.
I vote we take away the likes dislikes its no good for anyone its just bullying in a way. Its not facebook or a popularity contest either, its a site to discuss racing except the talk section which is for scratchers to have fun in.

Okay lads! enough is enough! A little banter never hurt anything, but when it becomes personal and threatening then it's time to
pull the curtain, as the show begins to stink!
You both seem to forget, that this diatribe goes out to the public,
who are already aware of our bad image painted by the media lies.
Never pour inflammable fuel to a smouldering fire!
Cease this ego trip, and consider your friends who love this sport!
I will call it a draw, for all participants in this community.

I am currently going through them Malcolm. It would have been easier to delete the first post which deletes the thread but unfortunately the posts would then stayed on Google for quite a while.

Don't worry, it should die a natural death just like the 700m straight track thread....

If I have missed deleting any posts please hit the report button.

I have asked the I.T. to change the like/dislike to agree/disagree. I am not sure how long it will take them but during this period can we please settle down and keep this topic free of personal attacks.

I am not an I.T. person but have been told the Google crawlers collect information from every website on the net every day and retain information to use in their search engine. I am hoping that by removing each post it will reduce the amount of time it will be "out there" for the world to see.

Instead of hitting the dislike button , you should have put in a reason why they should stay.
