Mal, you got a dislike for wishing a bloke good luck (lektra stomp thread)
Tony, do you need any more proof that the like/dislike button is nothing but an opportunity for personal attack?

Exactly why it wouldnt make any difference changing. Malcolm would take a disagree just as personally and ppl would continue to hit the disagree just because they know it annoys him.

Robert it not that the dislikes bother me, its the fact that ppl like you find it amusing to tick them just to annoy , instead of having a proper debate in why you disagree with something someone has said..

For the life of me I can't work out what purpose these buttons actually serve other than pi##ing people off.
Why have them??

Tony, Tony G is changing them to Agree/Disagree, then we can hopefully have a debate on why ppl agree/disagree, instead of this personal attack, like/dislike..

Oh Tony,
I find that the cleanup destroyed 11 of my posts even though most of them did address the like/dislike subject. Admittedly, some did mention other subjects but only in the context of having or not having buttons to press - my preference being to encourage useful comments.
As for changing the wording to agree/disagree - I doubt that will affect the posts. Long experience tells me it is never about the dogs - it's about the people.
Never mind, my recent post on an item in The Australian got 20 likes so I am obviously still sane. I couldn't get in a plug for greyhounds though, as I often do. Next time.

So you're saying if I get 20 LIKES (or agrees) for placing this post, I should feel pi##ed off?
