From 1 July 2018, the newly established Greyhound Welfare and Integrity Commission (GWIC) will become responsible for registering greyhounds and greyhound racing industry participants. Current GRNSW registrations are due to expire on 30 June 2018. GWIC will be rolling over all current registrations. These registrations will be rolled over on 1 July 2018 so that all current GRNSW registrants will be registered with GWIC from 1 July 2018 for a period of 12 months. To ensure that all current GRNSW registrants can continue using their Licence Identification, GRNSW will extend all registrations to 30 September2018. This will allow registrations to be transferred from GRNSW to GWIC and for new identification cards to be issued to registrants. The extension will apply to trainers, owner/trainers, breeders, studmasters, attendants, bookmakers and bookmakers clerks. New registration applications that have been submitted to GRNSW, and are able to be determined before 30 June 2018, will be finalised by GRNSW. Individual participants will be advised by GRNSW if a decision is made in relation to their application. All other applications will be referred to GWIC to determine after 1 July 2018. GRNSW will no longer be accepting applications for new registrations from today. These applications will also be referred to GWIC to determine after 1 July 2018. Until further notice, all registrations will continue to be authorised under the current Greyhound Racing Rules and industry participants will continue to be subject to the requirements of the rules. GWIC will provide further information to current holders of a registration and new applicants regarding the process post 1 July 2018 and any changes that will be implemented in the future.
