Thanks Linda , I stand corrected ,just shows how old I am . Nice to see a timely statement from IGB and Gerard Dollard .

Sadly the statement says Drumbo is outside the IGB remit...so it doesnt look like they will be offering financial support.

Regarding shortage of people to carry on the tradition big changes have taken place.
Around 1960 6 kids per family was pretty much expected. Since around 1980 this has fallen to 2 or less per family. The modern day 2 kids have the best of everything including education, degrees in many cases and so on.
So it's a different game now. People need real incentives to stay going. We will see smaller numbers of owners but with bigger kennels of dogs if the right incentives are there.

What really bugs me is the igb is very quick to come out and wash there hands of the northern tracks. The tote turnover from drumbo track, can someone tell me where it goes or who profits from it.

Why does the ICC get the fees can we not start are own greyhound board are do we need stormont for grants why does the igb not get the money when there track dogs

That's my thought. Why da hell are we paying fees to people who don't help us out or support us in anyway.. Why do these people have a say in our dogs when it comes to fees but when it comes to giving back we get told to f off. Surly the doggy game has enough bright heads to form a northern Irish board of our own. Fees get paid directly to it cut out icc and igb and make the NGB ( Northern greyhound board) at board that is here to make sure both tracks in the north run to maximum success. Our paid fees every year is the fund, I don't know the numbers but I bet it is a large number. Time to stand together and not be walked all over I think.

I bought a dog. Changed ownership and changed the name aswel as adding a parnter. I think if I rember correctly it cost me around 60. To change a name on a book. How many other people have paid this. Where is all this money.

The IGB through lack of foresight have missed another opportunity to further the enchancement of the greyhound industry in Ireland as a whole. Now Southern Breeder's ,Trainer's ,Stud Farm"s, Transporter's , Sale's etc will all take another hit as a result of Drumbo closing.Im not laying the blame at the IGB door but they could have even tried to help in anyway possible when asked and If anyone from the IGB is reading this take note the Brandywell use all these service's also and can do with all the help they can get maybe even sponsor a few Sweepstake's to help them along.

Some chance Paul. Only people who will help brandywell and drumbo is the doggy men n woman. I entered my dog into Derry pool Friday before I heard about drumbo as was there Thursday night for trails and the track was so well maintained I thought this track deserves some support. Derry needs the support aswel as drumbo.

THANKS TO EVERYONE WITH THE KIND WORDS BUT JOE DONT FOR ONE MINUTE THINK THATS THE END OF DRUMBO AND DTSC JUST YET, NOT A CHANCE OF ME OR THIS COMMITTEE JUST EXCEPTING THINGS, OK THE ODDS DONT LOOK GREAT WHEN IGB WONT HELP US STORMONT WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH US AND ICC ONLY WANT TO EXCEPT OUR FEES NOT TO MENTION THE DATA BASE THAT ALL OUR DOGS MICROCHIPS ARE REGISTERED TOO DISPITE US SEEMING TO BE BASED OUTSIDE THEIR REMIT, BUT THAT DOESNT MATTER I FORGOT THEY ONLY COLLECT MONEY TOO, FK LADS NEAR FORGOT THE TOTE IS/WAS TOTE IRELAND BUT THINK IGB SOLD IT TOO AND IF I REMEMBER IT IS RUN BY A COMPANY IN THE UK, LIVERPOOL I THINK.

WE AS A COMMITTEE NEED TIME TO TOUCH FIRST BASE WITH THE ADMINISTRATORS WHEN THEY ARE APPOINTED AND WE BELIEVE THEY WILL BE APPOINTED NEXT WEEK, KEEP YOUR DOGS AND AT LEAST LET US FIND OUT EXACTLY WERE WE STAND, PEOPLE WILL TRY AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE DRUMBO SITUATION AND BUY OUR DOGS FOR PENNIES.

LOOK ITS AS SIMPLE AS THIS, IF AFTER MEETING ADMINISTRATORS AND ANY SORT OF DEAL IS OUT OF THE QUESTION I WILL TELL EVERYONE.I WONT STRING PEOPLE ALONG I CAN ASSURE EVERYONE OF THAT.

What type of license is required to run an independent track, like the old flapping tracks on the mainland, I know it's sounds mad and the owners of drumbo, will be looking to get their money back, but the longer it's closed, people will loose interest, sell dogs and the dog pool, will be even worse, its a great facility,on the other hand, it could be opened and ran along the same lines as the brandywell, its council run, Belfast City Council, don't have to answer to the clowns on the hill

HI JIM, ANSWERS TO ALL THE QUESTIONS YOU HAVE ASKED AND MANY MORE ARE ALREADY BEING SOUGHT AND LETS JUST SAY A FEW INTERESTING FACTS HAVE CAME TO LIGHT WHICH I AM NOT PREPARED TO DISCLOSE AT THIS TIME AS DISCLOSING CERTAIN INFORMATION COULD DO US MORE HARM, ALL I CAN SAY IS CHINS UP FROM EVERYONE AND GIVE DTSC THE TIME WEE NEED TO HOPEFULLY GET THIS SITUATION RESOLVED IN OUR FAVOUR.

Jim ,it might be an idea to put the Lisburn Council under a bit of pressure , since it was them who denied Drumbo the license . I live in the area myself and I will be asking questions tomorrow of some of the councillors that I know .Remember also that the council now includes Castlereagh , which is something the East Belfast doggymen could take on board . When you think of the hundreds of thousands of pounds that they lose each year supporting the Ulster Grand Prix ,then surely a case could be made for greyhound racing here , particularly if it was marketed as it most successfully is , in Shelbourne .Just an idea to keep the pot boiling and support the staff members at the track .

Sorry to hear about closure does anyone know the telephone number of the administrators who are dealing with the closure as my mates and I were booked into restaurant for Friday night and I had paid the money 260 when I booked it and would like to know how I can get my money back will be grateful for any help.
Surely owners could have applied to national lottery for help as this was a cross community project what kept us all together throughout all the troubles.

The British government announced last week that 300 million of funding will be made available to support peace projects in Northern Ireland.
Could Drumbo apply for funding as greyhound racing has always been a great cross community sport especially during the troubles.
