Yesterday i heard a rumor that a well known trainer in Victoria was slipping some dogs at a registered slipping track ..
After his first two dogs trialed he gave them a drink of milk .
Animal welfare from the GRV where there watching and issued him with warning concerning giving his greyhounds milk .

Apparently you are not allowed to give MILK on a registered track after running as this is considered Live Baiting ...Milk is straight from the Cow it is considered to used for training Greyhounds hence why its now a no no ..

Is this fact or fiction ....There must be other people in Vic who have also heard this rumor ..

If this is true then common sense must prevail..

Sandro you are 100% correct ..

As stupid as it sounds ...
Nothing really surprises me anymore ..Please check it out i hope i am wrong

These new kennel Code of practice regulations will blow many away Rich..... be warned it's a shocker ....Requirements well above standard Boarding kennel requirements for all states of Australia ....Many rules are stricter than if you were keeping a private Zoo full of exotic animals ...

PS
I hope i don't get a kennel inspection because i have my old car seat cover and lamb wool moccasins in my bin and the rubbish don't get picked up for 5 days...

Fiction

If someone gets done for giving his dogs a drink of milk (which was probably water with a bit of milk to encourage the dogs to drink) those laying the charges will become a laughing stock worldwide.

If this is 100% correct then the GRV should be made accountable for such a ridiculous rule and decision it truly does show the total lack of understanding between its self and its Members ..

No Doubt many will be ringing the GRV today to either confirm or dismiss these accusations .....

Please someone tell me i am wrong ....

PS
I put my old sheep skin car seat in the Neighbours bin last night but the lamb wool Moccasins are the give away ...

R86B Offences relating to luring and baiting

(1) A person who, in the opinion of the Stewards or Controlling Body-

(a) uses in connection with greyhound training, education or preparation to race, or racing, any live animal, animal carcass or any part of an animal whether as bait, quarry or lure, or to entice, excite or encourage a greyhound to pursue it or otherwise; or

You figure it out Jack. I have heard a similar story of a legend trainer being warned, firstly for a meat reward and second for a milk reward. This is the level of political interference from the very beginning and the inept people who have been employed who now rule over a diminishing industry. People who have been retained even though they have screwed up. But hey that's the life of a public servant, mediocrity and unable to get a lasting job in the real world.

Whether the tales are true or not the swamp will be drained of money so I guess wait watch and see!

It is a sad sad World we now live in .....

Who would've thought a small drink of milk and a handful of meat is classed as Life Baiting after a trial or race ...

Be warned and be vigilant....Even a empty syringe in your car can also get you in trouble ..

How many people use a large syringe to place some neutradex and some other kind of tonic over the tongue to help assist the greyhound after a hard work ...

This is why I got out of the game, but it has obviously gotten more ridiculous since I quit. Too many non greyhound wanks telling us dog people how to train, feed & breed.

Yes Greg i was hoping someone would of disputed my post ..

It a very sorry day when you cannot even feed your dog any milk or give it a handful of meat.

I am surprised this has slipped through to the keeper with the GOTBA .

I am also surprised the GRV have not gone out to further spruike there so called good will to its members

Hi Kev,
Fact or Fiction!
This happened last Thursday night 2/may at Albion Park.
Good old trainer (Group Winning trainer) Travels about 4&1/2 drive to Brisbane.
Has done the same thing for many years now, gives his dogs a drink of home made CHICKEN BROTH. (They drink it, and keeps their weight right. NO DEHYDRATING)
WATER & CHICKEN CARCASS BOILED UP.

Young Steward marched him into stewards room. BROTH SAMPLE seized for analyse, Dog was SWABBED, Trainer to face an enquiry. FINE imminent?

Bloody stupid, mindless overkill! But hey the Coffers for RQ keep going

Read the Stewards report for Thur/2 May, when it becomes available.

(Please don't mention my name)

FACT OR FICTION ...

Please feel free to send me your emails .....Your name will not be mentioned ....
