Is there any update on when this site will be brought up to date with all the missing races ? Obviously it is having an impact on dogs for sale and pups.

As explain by Tony on another thread a couple of weeks ago Pete, they will eventually be done due to changes in format ---> CLICK HERE

But you can personally put them up yourself if you like, to help the team out.

Thanks, i had read that and wondered what the progress was. I have been putting races in but the small amount i do of my dogs is of little significance. As i do contribute financially towards the site,i was hoping for an update.

Hi Pete, the programme will be up and running by 15th July. At first I was told this was an easy fix but this is not the case. I know it's a long way off but this is what I have been told from our I.T. guy. The new GBGB website has created major problems for us to supply the results. Once its up and running we hope to update all missing races.

We do ask for support of our members to assist where possible by uploading any results they can.

I am sorry for any inconvenience this is causing our members.

Hi Peter our I.T. have told me this morning the programme they are building will be finished on the 15th. It will then be all hands on deck to get the races updated. I will let you know if there are any changes as I only have the I.T. to go by.

Peter - For your info and anyone else just be aware that some of the times for greyhounds shown on the GBGB website appear to be wrong as I have found races with a going allowance of normal when that is not the case. My dogs run at Nottingham where the allowance is frequently between +40 to +60 so giving a normal allowance will make the dogs appear far faster than they really are. This came to notice when I checked the times of my own dogs and also when I researched one that was advertised for sale on this site. The Racing Post website does show the correct going allowance so I would suggest everyone checks on that site if they want accurate going allowance information. I have emailed the GBGB so will update if I get a reply.
EXAMPLE....Skywalker Logan Track Record run shown on GBGB as 29.05 Normal when it was 29.05 +20 (see Racing Post website) I think this problem may be widespread.

yes that has been a problem for some time, the gbgb site has been wrong with going allowances alot. Always best to check the runs a dog has done and not take the data rating as gospel.

once the programme is working we will have one team member entering the races from the most recent and the other entering the races from first missing races. The new GBGB site is hard to work with for our I.T. hopefully it wont be long. I am as frustrated as you with the time this is taking.

Where will the info for the missing races come from ? If it is from the GBGB website then the information won't be accurate. GBGB have acknowledged they have a problem and are working to correct it but at present the source of accurate info seems to be the Racing Post website where you can search the form of any dog.

Chris, the Racing Post I am sure will not give us the results but feel free to ask them. I have already stated we get our UK results from the official greyhound body the GBGB.

The official greyhound body, the GBGB do not currently show the correct times for a lot of races as the going allowances are not being applied to many of the results. It therefore seems pointless at this time to upload inaccurate info. This is the reply I received on 15 July from the GBGB after pointing this out to them....
***
We are aware of the issue regarding the going allowances and have informed the designers. They are looking at correcting this as soon as possible.
***
Many people rate their dogs and even advertise them for sale on the back of GD ratings which will be wildly inaccurate if you go ahead and upload recent GBGB times.

Hi Chris, we have hundreds of people asking us when the results will be back online.

Are you suggesting we simply tell them we are not uploading them because they are not accurate but may be soon?

The GD rating have always only been a quick guide and we tell people to do their own homework before buying a dog.

I can see your point Chris but every country has one or several governing bodies and we get information from them. We cannot do anything about the UK situation. If they remove the incorrect results we cannot upload them but I do not think they will do this as others have said this has been happening for a long time. Are they going to correct all results, of course not.

Most people just enjoy seeing in print where their dog finished and if it won its a bonus and they can show friends. Not everyone plans to sell their dogs.

If the IGB make the correction before we upload the races it will be good if not we can always change their updated results when we are made aware of which races are no longer correct.

No problem Tony, just wanted to make you aware the GBGB times are unreliable at present and that you would be uploading inaccurate information.
