Hi, Greyhound-Data has created an individual website for every dog in its database which currently stands ay 2,283,155 greyhounds. We have put together in one place all the information we have on Greyhound-Data about every dog. This will allow users to upload many photos and videos of their dogs and keep everyone informed via the chat and news function of what is happening.
This will be a great benefit in following a dog throughout its entire life.
So any dogs you own or follow now has their own website.
We now need our forum members to test the websites and post back here what needs fixing/changing etc. before we officially go live. This aspect of GD has just been completed so I am sure you will find plenty of things that we need to fix.
Simply enter you dogs name into the search engine at the top right of this page.
Thank you for helping with this and we hope you enjoy your dog having its own website.

Constructive Criticism
Every time you press a button in the new format it opens a new page which means you are forever closing pages
E.g. search for a greyhound, new screen, click pedigree opens a new page, click home opens a new page
Wouldn't it be better that it opens what you want in the same page and then press the back button to go back to the menu?
That's my experience so far in browsing these pages, whilst I appreciate what you are trying to do, but so far its not a pleasant browsing experience

Hi Sandro, I agree with you. In time (hopefully very soon) the pedigree page etc. will be redesigned and incorporated into the website.
Most of our users would not know to press the back button as I didn't until I was shown.
Things will get better as all is improved and redesigned. The first step was to allow users to upload more than 3 photos and videos giving all a better understanding of all aspects of the dogs life.
The long term view is to redesign and improve every page on GD.
All input is appreciated.

With the results you have do they mention 1st, 2nd and 3rd? We would be very interested in getting these results onto our website.

The new personal dogs webpage needs to be separated from the search pedigree. If you want to quickly check say a dogs bottom damline instead of taking a few seconds it now displays a dogs personal webpage then the pedigree section doesnt open from it so you basically have to do a test mating to see it. Anyway, hope you can sort it out.

When you try to add a second photo when theres already 1 on the GD record previously, it deletes the first photo on you. Just lost a photo because of this glitch.
Finding the navigation isnt working to get to pedigree page.

Does this mean anybody can input data into the web pages of my dogs? At the moment I can access the web page of any dog on data and it is allowing me to write whatever I want. I'd be concerned if this was open to anybody accessing the web pages given you had to watermark photos and restrict the ability to change dog pedigree details.

Hi Kevin, its is open to GD members. There are report buttons throughout the pages and anyone doing the wrong thing will have there access removed immediately.
That's a good point re the watermarks, I will check with our I.T. to ensure this is in place for photos uploaded into this new section.

Guys, just to be clear these new web pages are only in the testing stage. At the end of the month we will redirect the search engine back to the pedigree page. We will then take on board all your suggestion and try to implement/change as many as possible. So please continue to lets us know your thoughts and suggestions. No one is going to get upset with any criticism or new ideas but please try to be constructive.
I think we can all agree that the ability to have all the information about a dog in one place is a good thing and that being able to upload dozens of photos or videos or news etc. is also a good thing. We just need to find the right way to implement this and this is why we need your input.
Thankyou to everyone for their input already and thank you to those who have uploaded photos, videos and news. The amount that has been uploaded in such a short time is amazing.
