I think its a nice touch & a fantastic addition.
Don't know why most are getting their nickers in a knot. Tony has stated on numerous occasions that this is just a test....So why not be constructive & add some positive ideas while you've got the chance.
On that note, I've now noticed there's 2 boxes in the right-hand-top-corner. Why not just keep it the way it was before with just 1 box & then add the "Website" on the page of the pedigree your going to look at.
For example go to the "Box" in the right-hand-corner & type in the dog you want to look at.
Once the pedigree has opened, no change except for the noticable "WEBSITE" button which you could place under the following on the left-hand-side.
date of birth land of birth land of standing breeder racing owner ### WEBSITE ###
By doing this, it will eliminate the typing of the dogs name "TWICE", causing more clicks to that website....with less effort.
Well done.
I agree Steve i think once the bugs are sorted out it will a fantastic for the website as a whole It will enable the full history of all Greyhounds born from birth to death and the Adoption groups can now load in a heap more data and history for all to see . The extra features are cool as well ... Thanks Tony and the Team its looks great ....

And I've got a million PUPPY picture's of pups I've bred that when I find time, I could upload to those websites should the owner(s) agree.

I have our I.T. guy working on setting up an additional search engine. One will take you to the website pages, the other will take you to the pedigree as before.
Thank you to all who gave us feedback, we will continue to implement the changes/fixes/improvements you have suggested.
It was good to find out just how much GD means to our members. The fact some were very passionate about the website even though they were disagreeing with us shows how much they care.
Hi Tony
That was a real good move as it gives us the choice now
The website search engine is also working on a more user friendly basis as well not continually opening up new tabs for each button pressed
It's starting to look good

Hi Sandro, thanks. We got a fair bit of feedback and are now making all the changes/fixes. Another positive was in the first 24 hours 87 photos were uploaded. Once we go live and let every verified member know the websites should start to take shape with more content added.
Thanks for your suggestions and support.

OMG this is a major crisis. This is as bad as GBGB altering their website whilst the derby is on! I think if GD got the races upto date first. It's probably got something to do with the Russians using Huawei to spy on another 1.5m aussies.
Hi Mark, Greyhound-Data has a full time I.T. guy but he is not qualified to rewrite the programme to meet the GBGB new website requirements to get the UK race results. For this we have employed another I.T. person. So the work we are currently doing on GD and getting the GBGB results are not connected in any way.

The timing is not good. After the GBGB glitches which are still not resolved, we are dependant on GD.
Hi Lynda, please read my post above. The GBGB results and the work being done on GD are being done by different people and have no connection or impact on each other. The timing of trying to achieve something good is always better if it is done sooner than later.

Guys, just to be clear these new web pages are only in the testing stage. At the end of the month we will redirect the search engine back to the pedigree page. We will then take on board all your suggestion and try to implement/change as many as possible. So please continue to lets us know your thoughts and suggestions. No one is going to get upset with any criticism or new ideas but please try to be constructive.
I think we can all agree that the ability to have all the information about a dog in one place is a good thing and that being able to upload dozens of photos or videos or news etc. is also a good thing. We just need to find the right way to implement this and this is why we need your input.
Thankyou to everyone for their input already and thank you to those who have uploaded photos, videos and news. The amount that has been uploaded in such a short time is amazing.
Apologies
But this new way doesnt even compare to the OLD way
To format ,using or anything
Old way leaves new way for dead
See yous in the new month , coz I cant use it or think of anything positive to say at all
Its a shame that advertising seems to have taken control aswell Total disaster IMOP
Have to go now its doing my head in completely
So upset
Hi Nathan, yes the number of adverts looks worse than it is due to not enough content being in the new websites at the moment. I will have them reduced.
GD needs income from advertising as well as paid members such as yourself to survive. Thanks for your input I am sure the websites will look better soon.

I think another suggestion to improve the database would be to simplify the procedure to do a click here test mating. I mainly use my phone so cant highlight in blue and paste. My suggestion is, create a shortcut so that its much easier to do testmating. This way more people could get their point across. Im sure a shortcut like spreadsheet could be created to do this so if any Computer Programmers are out there lets hear from you!

If you mean a shortcut to copy a testmating already created, I think that is a wonderful idea and all it should need is a "Share" button placed under "Future Litter" on the testmating page.
A couple of suggestions for the Greyhound Web pages.
If the web pages are considered individual to each dog the maybe "HOME" should replace the "WEB" link and the GD home just reached through the shield icon?
I think that the "ADOPTION" link would be better titled "RETIREMENT"?

Great suggestion Barrie, I will get our I.T. onto it.
The problem with the home page is that it will confuse members if we have 2 home pages. We originally had it set up the way you suggested but members did not know to click on the shields so we changed it.

Yes I puzzled over it before making the suggestion, it was just having navigated a greyhounds site my natural instinct was to click the HOME link and it initially surprised me to end up at the GD home page. Maybe the GD home link could be labelled "GDATA", I think that would be obvious to most?
