I would like to openly invite the Irish Greyhound Board to work with Greyhound-Data on following a dog's life from birth until its passing.
I am sure everyone will agree that the importance of following a dog's life from birth to its passing has never been more important.
Greyhound-Data is set up to do this right now.
What we would require from you would be the exchange of information regarding pups born and changes in ownership.
If you would agree to the sharing of information we could have all up and running within 48 hours. This would be a massive step forward in welfare and also stop fabricated figures on wastage being put out to the public.

Another way that you guys could help would be share data so we can run the formula that Ruth Dockerty found in hr paper on breeding genetics. (everyone turned her down) yet for breeding better dogs with more chance racing longer more sustainable careers it could help greatly

Hi Phillip, Greyhound-Data receive the data we have from the official greyhound boards worldwide. We have contracts in place and cannot share this data with a third party. Anyone wanting data must go to the source which is the greyhound boards.
It would even be a help if the dogs rehomed through the Irish retired greyhound trust could be updated on greyhound data. Over 1000 last year. All they would need to pass on is the name of dog and country rehomed to.
This is still a point that needs to be optimised in Germany as well. At the moment there are 5 rehoming organizations in the greyhound-data. Nevertheless only a few dogs have been updated (at the moment?). Often people do not have the time to complete this in the greyhound-data. I am sure that most people are not aware of the consequences of the missing updates. I hope that the organisations will take advantage of the help I have offered in the past. Michaela
