Is the anti-Everest sentiment based on it being a sprint race?
Whereas the Melbourne Cup is the hardest test for the toughest quality of horses in the world?

Because I totally agree.
Which is why, in my opinion, Makybe Diva is above Winx and Black Caviar.

Jamie

I also don't like it because it's a race where the big nobs of the sport pay their way in and not really open to the ordinary owner unless you partner up with a slot holder

The Melbourne Cup is open to all comers, if the Australian breeding industry was adept at breeding stayers there would be more Aussie horses in it

So much incentive to breed sprinter/milers.

Not a lot of staying races worth big money, where the best from around the world aren't invited. Unless you teach them to jump.

Personally I dont like the Everest because I knocked back a chance to buy shares in Redzel. Still having nightmares.

I know a bloke who went and inspected Brett Lee's litter and picked another 2 pups. Apparently BL was lying in hole and wldn't get out of it the whole time he was there, so he cldn't get a look at it.

Sandro, put in GDWOOD CUP G1 2019 into u tube & chk out that race when you get time, if you haven't seen it already. Cross Counter ran 3rd in it. Worth watching I thought.

Oh, well done Simon......go the Mayblooms!

Melbourne Cup Double Points

1st Vow and Declare 11.70 + 3.90 + 5 = 20.60 x 2 == 41.20 pts

and then there is the bloke who dumped the Richmond Tigers and became a member of the GWS Giants 8 year ago.......

This double point system is completely rigged.
Any more double point race coming soon?

Clearly indicated in the very 1st post on page one that only the Melbourne Cup carried double points as the Jewell in the Crown plus there is a field of 24 not 8, 12, 14 or 18. Is this disappointing announcement from the stewards enough for you to pack your bags and leave another comp on here mid stream? - The Convener

Hey Mr. Convenor, seeing we have an American participant (Not the PAW).
Perhaps you could find it in your heart to hold the next "Stewards" meeting in the USA? Florida, Colorado, Utah, Big Apple etc?

To get on the Plane! I'm quite prepared to call you Crooked!

The last disappointing news I got from stewards was a 4 month disqualification, for a crime that carries a suspended fine in every other state.
Then again, SA is known as the unfenced loonie farm and the stewards over there are forced to remove their spine before starting work.
Sorry, where were we?
Oh yes, the tipping comp.
Sorry I didn't read the rules.
Bags remain unpacked.
