Mervyn Black sadly passed away on Sunday 11th January 2020 his celebration of life will be held on Monday 20th January at Macquarie Park Cemetery.
Time: 12PM
Where: Macquarie Park Cemetery, Magnolia Chapel. Corner Plassey and Dehli rd North Ryde 2113

Mervyn formally of Gladesville and later retired to Lisarow on the Central Coast.
Merv was a very passionate Balmain Tigers supporter who loved his Greyhounds. He also loved swimming and Balmain Water polo. He was a butcher by trade and later worked for Leichhardt Council at Leichhardt Swimming Pool.

In the 1970s Secret Sight won numerous distance races at Wentworth Park and Harold Park. Her claim to fame was beating Raggsie at 100 to 1 and then running 2nd in the final to him. Merv was a mate and bought his first dogs off the great Bob Doakes who had Dusty Trail, Dusty Rapid, Kims Monaro etc.
Arkaroola Dreamer, Caza Kid, Brodies Reward, Nats Whisper and Digger Norris are a few of Mervs successes. He always had a handy dog.
Merv was a very respected President and member of the GBOTA City Branch for many years.

I got to know Merv through dealings with the greys.Got to know him when I bought a trailer from him in the 80's.Really well kept 2 dog Maggs.
Always an absolutely considerate gentleman.
Condolences to the family.
Rest in Peace Merv.
