Over the last couple of day Greyhound-Data has come under a lot of criticism for showing greyhound Brinkleys Blaze land of standing as China.

The Greyhound Racing Club of Mainland China GRCC has strict procedures to follow before a greyhound can be entered into their Studbook. The procedures include:

1. Checking all paperwork
2. Checking and photographing earbands against the paperwork provided.
3. Checking the microchip against the paperwork provided.
4. Taking a DNA sample and registering it with a DNA Database.

The greyhound called Brinkleys Blaze met all of the above criteria.

Once we were informed there was a greyhound called Brinkleys Blaze adopted out in the UK Greyhound-Data immediately changed the land of standing back to the UK while we could carry out an investigation.

Greyhound-Data like everyone else wants this matter resolved so that the true whereabouts of Brinkleys Blaze can be established.

The results of our investigation is shown in the videos and photos provided by the GRCC and the owner in China, these can be seen on our Facebook page:

Have had a lovely day off celebrating my dads 80th birthday with my family and come home to all this rubbish, Brinkleys Blaze was rehomed by Hall Green Greyhound Trust and has a lovely home here in the UK (as proved by HGGT last year when this cropped up before), his earmarks are MQ MQH not QB ZTI and microchip number is 981098106321758, not the one shown on Greyhound Data, so obviously some unscrupulous person has sent a dog to China and falsified the documents claiming it to be Brinkleys Blaze, you have to feel sorry for the dog in question that is over there, I hope when they find out what dog this actually is in China (never registered by GBGB) and who sold or sent the poor dog over they take the necessary action.

How would you feel if some scum bag sold you a fake dog for huge $$$

Interesting times ahead i guess for all Owners who sold Greyhounds to China ...

DNA does not lie .

Huge legal ramifications imo to come from the Chinese Owners for all past and present Stud dogs sent to China if some are found to be fakes then i would hate to paying the legal fees and all costs .

Hopefully this matter will be resolved asap, Brinkleys Blaze was only in our kennel a short time (19/4/18 - 2/8/18) but was a lovely dog and rehomed through Hall Green Greyhound Trust, the documents shown by the GRCC have obviously been falsified, Brinkleys Blaze earmarks are MQH QH not QB ZTI, his microchip number is 981098106321758 not 981098106227561

Greyhound-Data are managing the Studbook for the Greyhound Racing Club of Mainland China GRCC and are responsible to try and ensure all is correct. There has been rumours about Brinkleys Blaze by the antis for the last 6 months. We along with the GRCC are being transparent and trying to find the truth.

It certainly appears the owner in China has been ripped off.

From the GRCC studbook side of things is its good this has been picked up otherwise this dog would have been at stud and all future pups and their off spring would have been wrong.

A good thing the GRCC is doing is testing DNA on every dog registered in their Studbook. Unforunately this is not possible with imports to China as we do not have the access to the parents DNA.

Greyhound-Data and the GRCC are against greyhounds being sent to China until such time as the sport is bought up to an international standard which is still some years away.

Many dogs sent to China from Australia (for big $) were never DNAd prior to export as there was never a requirement at the Australian end. It may be found that a number of dogs don't have their claimed parentage and the seller may have sold in good faith . Even today a pup buyer has no assurance that the animal purchased is by the claimed site out of the claimed dam. But wait it is only 2020 and the boffins in charge are still rehearsing monty python skirts

It is now confirmed the dog in China is not Brinkleys Blaze!
