I was very lucky when I started out many years ago. The late Alan Roberts and Ned Bryant were very helpful to me.I could only dream to be as successful as either one.But there were a great help to me. Many laughs around the kitchen table.

Kevin i was very fortunate, lucky & forever grateful to a number of mentors.Ted Curran,(Trainer/ muscleman,a brilliant man),Liz Curran ( pre ed/ education ) at Solar Lodge were my rock's when i started off,( even recommended me to be accepted to go to Macau & train for them over there, but the mention of a body guard 24/7,persuaded me not to go lol ),but it would be remiss of me not to mention some others who shared their knowledge with me.
Tony & Michael Zammit,Tommy Patterson, some of the Cauchi family,( was offered a job at Rocky Ridge when they first kicked off ),Betty Stubljar ( Trainer of Gun Law Osti),& countless others who taught things that have stayed with me all along, people like Brian Barrington,Hank & Leo Vanderburgh,Eddie Graham, the Singlines ( educators ),Don Mc millin,Greg Whitehead ( trainer of Faithful Lady ),who i worked for at the old Kellyville trial Track & training/ rearing & education complex ( formerly Paul Cauchi's Property ),Steve Kelly, even Gerry O'Okeefe,(Sandi's Me Mum's trainer) in a whirlwind visit at Ted Curran's. But also the vets & muscle men,Ted Humphies comes to mind & Johnny Green,an abslolute genius muscleman & true gentleman.
I have been truly blessed by by the influence all of these wonderful, remarkable people,& to this day,i have not forgotten how much they taught me,but more importantly...how they all mentored me.
But even more remarkable is that i am stiil being taught & mentored by people on Greyhound Data without them probably not even realising,& thats part of the reason our industry is so bloody amazing.
Cheers Kevin.

Great post Daz .. I think it is very important for any newcomer to understand you must serve some form of Apprenticeship and you need Mentors ...
I have seen to many newbys come and go because many lack the very basics...
Cheers
