Very simple, we put our money in to keep the site improvements up with modern IT. So as a person who spends $1100 a year, I'm only to happy to have my ads keeping GD sustainable.

Alan within a minute or so you don't even notice them....that is my experience with it. At least at first look they look better than some of the ads people place in the classifieds here lol

I understand the purpose of it, but it just gets in the way and is annoying
Every time I want to look at something at ther bottom of the page I have to hit the arrow every time I refresh a page
Is there is a way of switching it off, because it is really starting to pee me off
It really does wreck the ambience of the page

It's a small price to pay IMO. It may be an option that Gold members are made add free.

Its not a matter of cost , its a matter of being able to read the bottom of the page without having to click it off every time I refresh
I would gladly pay $10 extra for my membership if it guaranteed that the bottom ad was removed or switched off

That's exactly what I suggested by making Gold members add free.
I'm not talking about figuratively paying. I'm saying having to navigate around adds, isn't a huge imposition to help keep this wonderful asset thriving.

If you think its ok, thats alright for you
But I detest it and think it is an imposition on how the site works
The site is already working so slowly because of the security protocols, honestly, I can go and make a cup of tea and drink it before the pages refresh and now have to put up with this ad popping up blocking the words at the bottom of the page
Surely there is a better way around all this
That's my opinion, no need to respond anymore

I agree with Sandro it is very annoying when u go throw the classifieds as a gold member it should be gone I logged on last night on wifes computer and was confronted with the same problem. I understand why they are there just placement could be better.

Sandro thats exactly what i was saying, it gets annoying having to click it of, there will come a time when the whole of the page is covered in Adds. If they are making allot of money out of these Adds then they this site should be allot better than it is, they are not updating and they are not keeping an eye on people trying ad another dog to the litter to make it look as though the dog has only just started running when its had several races under another name.

The stupidity of this new pop up ad at the bottom of the page, is that there is already another ad which sits fixed at the bottom of the page under all the greyhound related information that most of us want to read
Then this ad pops up, covers that ad and covers what we want to read

Can now see your point Alan. On my tablet you can still roam pages perfectly without having to click down tbe ad. When I switched to my PC last night this was not the case.
Extremely annoying! Ridiculous is a btter way to describe it.

Rod I agree. I put my blinkers on and away I go. However, I was looking at the Domain R/E website for a few months and liked it, but prefer the other big site. Ink Station is appearing right now and a couple of months ago, I ended up purchasing some cheaper ink cartridges for my printer. Ads work if you want them to. Otherwise, carry on by ignoring them.

Hi Guys, We employ an Australian company to manage all the google adverts. We have contacted them asking that our Gold Members not have to see these new adverts. As soon as they reply with a way around this we will implement it.

HOUR 100% right the adds now have taken the enjoyment out of data I reported it no word back iam in Ireland I cant click on the ire site to see the dogs forsale as the add blocks my country every time I try to close another comes up I cant get onto the ire site thank god iam only bronze member as of now I dont think I will renew next year unless something is done about the adds blocking content
