In April this year, the greyhound MINERS MOSS won a heat of the Rockhampton Cup in 29.20, which was a track record. In the final of the Cup, Miners Moss also saluted running just 1/100's slower to prove that last weeks record, wasn't a fluke. This month that same greyhound Miners Moss won a heat of the LIGHTNING over 331m at Albion, & in the process broke the previous track record by .08, which was also set in last years LIGHTNING EVENT by Pink Jeanes running 18.80.
Why am I mentioning this ?
Well last night at Rockhampton, the greyhound COSMIC WATERS ---> CLICK HERE absolutely SMASHED that track record in the Best 8 Rockhampton Futurity which she won by 14 lengths. The time she ran was .26 quicker then MINERS MOSS, who is mentioned above and is obviously no slouch. 28.94 was the time Cosmic Waters recorded in the Futurity & in the process became the FIRST greyhound to break the 29 second barrier which is really unbelievable.
Congratulations to trainer Darren Taylor & all concern....Steve.
PS.......COSMIC WATERS now owns two Track Records at Rockhampton after she also broke the 407m record back in late July.
Steve miners moss broke the record held by dismantle at 18.79

ANDO'S MAGIC last night shattered the 280m record at Wentworth Park running 15.86, & in the process became only the third K9 (lol)....to break the magical 16 second mark.
The other 2 dogs to eclipse that mark was the Ted Pomfrett trained BALLERINA LEGEND who did so (nearly to this day) 11 years ago running 15.98.........And LORD OF DARKNESS lowed that mark by .02, just 3 months ago.
Congratulation to John & Jane Carruthers.

Going Allowances are not taken into account for track record purposes.
When the track record of 35.06 was set the track was rated 0.30 fast but the TR is still given as 35.06 and not 35.36

Not sure if that is a sarcastic reply or not Louise, especially with all the exclamation marks?
The problem with using calculated times i.e. with the going allowance applied, is that the going allowance is a subjective value based on the opinion of the racing manager or the local stewards whereas when the clock stops it shows the actual time the winning greyhound has recorded.
That's why most, although not all, UK track records are set on fast going.

The result of using Goodesy over an El Galo bitch. Fair to say it's probably not everyone's cup of tea regarding a mating lol. Congratulations to the breeder/s for believing in the cross and going against the popular trends.

After just becoming a member of the forum i stumbled across this thread, brought a tear to my eye. Mr Babicci 3 times broke Albion Park t/r 22.50,22.40 and 22.30 which still stands. Barney was a very hard chaser and only needed room for the first 10m after the start and he was gone. Dad gave him a trial getting ready for the Grafton carnival and sadly he broke a hock and could not be saved. Very sad, but we have a litter(same breeding) due to hit the tracks soon
