whilst i totally agree action must be taken against drug cheats and fines be more sustantial but if you ban them ALL this will cause a large welfare issue what do you do with all the dogs just a thought as surely this is all about the dog for example the 16 named could have 200 plus dogs between them

This is now one of the most important elements of the campaign to clean up the industry. The dogs must be named and identified and this should be done retrospectively. Breeders have a right to know if the touted superdogs they have used and paid good money for were really running on their merits. This is a multi million euro rip off and has been perputated by the drug cheats who were very happy to tell how brilliant there charges were. when I think of the posters on data who have glorified these cheats and the so called wonder dogs my blood boils. Some of the comments made by the owners in relation to their dogs with some of the named trainers are now laughable. What about the breeders who have been extorted in the past decade its bordering on criminal in fact its most likely criminal. How many stud dogs which ran on their own merit and talents have we lost. Hundreds of honest to goodness well bred racers never used lost and forgotten. This is shameful breeders were hoodwinked in to using the over hyped drug ridden animals who could never reproduce their kind. I urge all breeders choose your sires with care stay away from stud dogs trained by these people. Turn off the financial tap which gives this fraud its life blood and return to old values. we have a glimmer of hope here and we need to push hard for the truth. Well done lads keep it up.

Why should this cause a welfare issue. Surely it would solve a welfare issue. There are plenty people not using these drugs

They can go to people who love greyhounds, won't run them when they are injured, wont give them drivers to get them out the boxes faster than their counterparts, there are plenty of comptent straight trainers and owners who have the welfare of this sport and the welfare of the dogs at heart.
