There is only 1 way the greyhound scene is going and that into the gutter we may already be there but this is the final nail in the coffin

This current control committee must be an easy ride for the professional what ever you wish to call them, let those boys go they are good trainers FFS, I for one will not stop digging until they are all booted out of this sport or humiliated in the public eye.

This specific sample of pentobarbital was taken on the 14th November 2015 one year one and this trainer walks free what will happen when he is up for his other positives? one rule for them one rule for the rest, another positive sample for pentobarbital was taken on the 3rd March 2016 when will that one be up. The only way to hurt those elements is to keep bringing up the positives and rubbing their noses in their own dirt the more people that kick up a stink and get involved the better.

The GBGB imposed a fine of 600 and severely reprimanded the owner/trainer for feeding his dog raw meat, but here in Ireland certain elements walk free for feeding the same category type meat, Professor Morris was right with his damming report regarding the IGB operations.

Do greyhound people think the drug problem is more wide spread than the IGB make out, looking back at previous trainers who have been caught with banned substances and are still being caught today does not make good news.

From what I can see there is widespread drug abuse. I think it is ingrained in the culture. It is supported by the necessity of having to find time in order to be competitive, which starts when the hound is first graded. Totally inadequate or non existent punishments for the very few that get caught only serves to perpetuate the problem. An inability and apparent unwillingness by the IGB to create an effective and transparent testing regime allows the problem to continue. This not only serves to place Irish greyhound racing in a very poor light but also makes it extremely difficult for the honest trainer to win races and sell his dogs.

This industry is being run by total hypocrites who say one thing but do another and always fails to deliver, This statement means nothing.
IGB chairman, Phil Meaney, said: These are very significant changes which will allow for much greater transparency in the testing regime and severe sanctions against owners/trainers whose dogs test positive for banned substances. There is a strong testing regime at work in Ireland. This will further strengthen it and will be welcomed by all stakeholders in the industry.
The chief executive of IGB, Geraldine Larkin, welcomed the changes in regulation. The Irish Greyhound Board has been advocating these regulatory amendments for some time. We are in favour of mandatory sanctions and openness about testing in our industry. It is essential to not only require compliance but to also have the regulatory muscle to enforce it and to take action against the small minority who would seek to act otherwise.
The CEO/Chairman are away with the fairies or they soon will be IMO.

Liam, don't be under any illusions when it comes to certain elements using banned substances the list is long and when the truth finally comes out regarding certain dogs who have won major events there will be plenty of embarrassed people going into hiding, Zero Tolerance is the only way forward and until this board start applying Zero Tolerance nothing will change.

Unfortunately there is no sign of any trainers being embarrassed, rather the opposite as the IGB appears to still be willing to accept sponsorship money from them and to put their dogs, some of which have been found with banned substances, up for the top industry awards.

Trainer Cronin also had 2 Positive tests during Derby and still racing dogs.
Any other sport, a Ban would be in place for 3/6 months, But not IGB>
Time for an INDEPENDANT body to take control of ALL testing both Track & Field.
Also, Phil Meaney & Icc Cheif need to step down ASAP

This petition has been going now for three years and still the top trainers are getting away with it the igb are afraid to take them on when they turn up with there barristers I had a positive test first in over fifty years training dogs was fined 100 euro it was my fault as I was feeding cat2 meat I paid the fine if the igb bring in rules that if your dog fails a test it is your fault and you have no right to a inquiry then they will be able to treat everyone the same and they won't have to worry about court cases against them

The IGB are involved up to their necks in wrong doings with trainers and have been for a long time they introduce thresholds to save the trainers arse when they should be throwing the book at them but they cant for the fear of someone squealing.

Another cheat caught by the short and curlies over samples being sent to new market , that's the way to go Newmarket not the limerick laboratory. more to follow.
when the sport of greyhound racing needs positivity more than ever we have these doom and gloomers who have nothing better to be doin only rant and rave about drugs and how other peoples dogs are running, if i was tony galagher id ban the lot of ye from g-data...in yer eyes if a good dog goes out and does a run oh his on drugs...and then ye go on line a publicly tarnish the sport with yer negitive toughts i wouldnt mind so much if ye were working behind the scenes to clean up the sport but all yer doin is sitting at home on yer holes begrudging every man that has a bit of luck ye would be better of if ye focused on yer own dogs for a change....winners focus on winning losers focus on winners...FACT,
