The first 6 dogs invited to the 2015 BetAmerica Daytona 550 have been announced with two to go. This invitation only race is shaping up as Americas equivalent of the Topgun to be run at the Daytona Beach Kennel Club in Florida on January 24th.

The $200,000 Dubuque Iowa Classic winner, Pat C Sabbath (KC And All x Operation Scorch) has been included in the field.

Interesting to note that three of the first 6 finalists announced are out of Lonesome Cry bitches.

Husker Magic Rhythmless x Casino Zada (Lonesome Cry)
Kiowa Leer Lloyd Kelso Fusileer x Kiowa Kay Tipton
Bocs John Luke Super Lee x Antsie Nancy (Lonesome Cry)
Storm Control - Lonesome Cry x Racy Reward (Molotov)
Pat C Sabbath KC And All x Operation Scorch
Lee Opera Soprano Drive x Lee Devin (Lonesome Cry)

PAT C SABBATH
Brindle Male, 74 lbs, January 2012
(KC And All Operation Scorch, by Oshkosh Slammer)
Breeder: Melissa Schmidt
Owner: Pat Collins or Melissa Schmidt
Kennel: Pat C Greyhound

If you watch Pat C Sabbaths performance in capturing the $200,000 Iowa Breeders Cup, you will have a good idea of why this athlete is so special. Sabbath possesses both speed and determination, two traits that can separate the best from the rest.

The now king at Dubuque recorded the seasons best time of 30.23, and holds the fourth fastest time (29.69) at Bluff Run. The 74lb male should be a strong competitor in the Daytona 550, as he has the ability to accelerate late in the race and finish strong.

Sabbath is owned by a unique partnership of Collins and Schmidt. Collins is a long time Colorado breeder and kennel operator who has had the pleasure of numerous top flight competitors, including the great Pat C Rendezvous. Schmidt is fairly new to the business but already enjoying extreme success while capturing the second largest purse in racing with Sabbath's win in the $200k Iowa Breeders Classic.

Sabbath is the second Iowa Bred to be invited to run in the Daytona 550. He is a son of KC And All, who although had a brilliant career in Iowa was never able to win a major stake. He is however having great success passing on his talents to his offspring.

All Pat C Sabbath needs is some room to run on January 24th, and if he does, watch out. Seemingly in his prime, Sabbath will be a serious threat to capture the national championship.

While Robert Britton went south to score another Group winner in Tassie, a bitch called SE'S HIGH ABOVE won the 1st for him at Sandown Pk.

She's fully imported (I believe) from THE STATES and won impressively & in doing so, brought up another first for her sire DJAYS OCTANE* with his first city winner.

Interesting pedigree ---> CLICK HERE

Nice work to all involved.
