She ran a great Heat Mick, best of luck in the final. Came across the following article in the recorder, thought I would post it. Rich.Written By Gerard Guthrie TONY Rasmussens Victorian import Shauns Entity has burst into contention for the Group 1 UBET Adelaide Cup with two runaway victories at his first two appearances at Angle Park. After winning on debut at The Meadows in March, Shauns Entity, a well-bred April 15 son of Mogambo and Girl Aloud, won only one of his next 11 starts before relocating to South Australia after being purchased by Tony Rasmussens kennel client Tim Aloisi. Shauns Entity made an immediate impression at his Angle Park debut when coming off the reserves bench to score by ten lengths in 30.27. He then made it two from two in Adelaide last Thursday when clocking a best of night 29.69, with his winning margin this time 7.75 lengths, earning a crack at Thursday nights Adelaide Cup heats with his fourth win from 14 starts. The Adelaide Cup wasnt a plan. We only decided to put him in after his run last Thursday night, Tony Rasmussen said. Hes a little bit tardy early but hes got a ton of ability. I think he might be the star of my kennel for the next 12 months. I think hes going to get a bit of distance later on because his run home times are enormous. Tim Aloisi is a very good owner and he studies the form very closely. Tim has a good relationship with Shauns Entitys owners. He wasnt going so well in Victoria but we heard that hed trialled very quick a couple of times so Tim decided to take the gamble and buy him. When I trialled him I knew he had a motor. He trialled 29.80 at Angle Park but two weeks in a row I couldnt get a start with him. Then he got a start off the reserves bench and won and then I was very happy to see him run 29.69 last week. Shauns Entity has drawn box four in the opening Adelaide Cup heat, where the major stumbling block appears to be Victorian star Aston Dee Bee, winner of seven of his last nine, with the two defeats being feature race placings in the National Sprint Championship and Healesville Cup. I think Aston Dee Bee will jump to the front and win but I just hope Shauns Entity gets a clear run and room to move so he can show us what he can do, Rasmussen said. Shauns Entity is a litter brother to another prominent Adelaide Cup contender in classy Victorian-trained bitch Zaras Entity, which has won seven of her 13 starts, including the Group 3 Cranbourne Classic, and trialled in a scorching 29.29 at Angle Park last Thursday in preparation for the Cup heats. Rasmussen and wife Lisa will boast runners in each of the six heats as they hope to secure their first Adelaide Cup finalist, with Tony particularly excited about the local debut of another Victorian recruit in Barton Bale, a March 14 son of Vee Man Vane and Darya Bale, also part-owned by Tim Aloisi. Ive had Barton Bale for about eight weeks but he hasnt raced here yet because he had to get a toe removed when he came over, Rasmussen explained. Barton Bale made the Melbourne Cup Final last year. Hes only had 20 starts for 12 wins and hes been trialling the house down. Weve never made an Adelaide Cup Final before because weve actually never had that class of dog, so I would love to get one or two through. Lisa and I have run third in the Darwin Cup (Zipping Zeus) and second in the Canberra Cup (Hukanui) recently so hopefully it might be our turn in the Adelaide Cup.
