Ashleigh, he got a few "questionable" bitches early on, (which did him no favors, but looking at their (broods) previous efforts, there is no great surprise) I have a nice litter of 7 nearly 12 months old and Terri just bred another nice litter from a well bred brood. I reckon he may do just fine at stud.

Rich.

Jesaulenko AT STUD

THE wisest of broodbitch owners, those breeders who constantly produce city class performers, Group class gallopers, and especially the great race dogs of their time, have one piece of knowledge "up their sleeve" when it comes time to undertake a mating.
That is the fact "most" of the really great stud dogs seen in greyhound racing in Australia decade after decade, without falter, have run a track record during their career at the races. Some have run more than one.
Track Record breakers have a plus "up their sleeve" ... they take to stud the ability to take their generation to a new level. It is this track record breaking speed that allows those stud dogs to upgrade the bitches they mate.
And in the process become great stud dogs themselves.
Race dogs who have broken track records and then gone on to become superstars at stud start way back with the legend Chief Havoc, down to Black Top, on to Temlee and Waverly Supreme, then to Chariot Supreme and Head Honcho, to Collision and Surf Lorian, and of course right to today to Fernando Bale and Barcia Bale.
Which also brings us to JESAULENKO the October 2013 black son of College Causeway-Elite Fairy by Elite State.
Why? Because JESAULENKO smashed not one, but TWO, track records during his long and wonderful race career, running 29.84 at Traralgon and 24.32 at Sale.
Those track records were but two highlights of a race career for JESAULENKO that came from 122 race starts for 53 wins, 27 2nds and 15 3rds earning $412,000 in stakes. A career like that, with its longevity indicating great soundness, must be hugely appealing for broodbitch owners.
JESAULENKO won the Group 2 Traralgon Cup, the Listed Cup Night Sprint, was 2nd in the Group 1 Melbourne Cup and Group 1 Temlee and a finalist in the Group 2 Traralgon Cup, Group 2 Bendigo Cup, Group 2 Cranbourne Cup and the Group 3 Silver Bullet.
On city tracks, JESAULENKO took his fabulous speed with him winning in 29.13 at Sandown and 29.66 at The Meadows.
He started his race career in April 2013 and finished, winning a Sandown FFA, in April 2019.
But, JESAULENKO came from the bluest of bloodlines. All six of the named offspring in his litter were winners. His litter sister Anberlin was a finalist in the Group 2 Sandown Laurels, and littermate Fairy Pretty won 12 races and earned $24,000.
Their dam, Elite Fairy, was a city winner at Sandown among her seven wins and six placings. She too came from a quality litter of five named offspring of which all were winners.
JESAULENKO's second dam Fairy Fast won four races at Cranbourne, Sale and Traralgon and got 700m successfully. She also became the dam of Elite Chi Chi the winner of 10 races and $29,000.
Third dam, Ebony Park Lass, was one of the very best stayers of her time in Victoria winning 21 races and being placed 25 times winning the All Star Invitation at WPk and making the final of the Group 1 Gleeson and Tonta, Group 1 Association Cup etc.
Ebony Park Lass became the dam of multiple Track Record breaker Bluff Prince (at stud in Sweden) and Fairy Wings (TR The Meadows, Roy Maidment Memorial) who also became a great producer of Brett's Rival (multiple Group finalist, sire).
This is the direct damline of such stars as Lukeamy (G1 Nat Futurity), Dutchy's Angel (G21 Sapphire Classic, G2 Trar Cup, sire in England), and Decliro Park (3rd G1 Laurels).
But, this damline of JESAULENKO traces directly to I'm Blessed and is best known the world over for producing legend Brett Lee as well as his famous half brother Big Daddy Cool.
JESAULENKO goes to stud with a great number of options open to him among the broodbitches in Australia. The options are endless.
His sire College Causeway was a champion of his time winning the Irish Derby and then proving himself at stud through the deeds of his great son Milldean Panther. College Causeway is a son of Australia's own legend race dog and sire Go Wild Teddy, sire of champion stud dog Barcia Bale.
So, just what bloodlines "could" suit JESAULENKO?
The fact he is from the very same direct damline as Brett Lee and Big Daddy Cool but via a female line, means he is absolutely crying out for bitches saturated with Brett Lee and Big Daddy Cool in their pedigree ... and they are EVERYWHERE!
Elite State, damsire of JESAULENKO, is a very important ancestor in the record breaker's pedigree. Champion UK race dog and sire Ballymac Vic is by Kinloch Brae from a daughter of Elite State. Thus, we can confidently put daughters of Kinloch Brae to JESAULENKO in a bid to recreate Ballymac Vic.
Elite State's dam Spark Again is bred along identical lines to the great sire Awesome Assassin and his famous sisters Goddess Of Fire and Tranquil Scene. Bitches with any of this trio in their pedigree could suit a mating to JESAULENKO. This is how the great Knocka Norris and his sister Elite Oriental (granddam of Aston Dee Bee) are bred.
Daughters of that fast emerging great broodbitch sire El Grand Senor could greatly suit JESAULENKO. By Where's Pedro (who has produced a fine litter to JESAULENKO's dam) he has a cross of Awesome Assassin in his damline.
Big Daddy Cool is bred along almost identical lines to Elite State. He can be found in the damline of sires like Spring Gun and Awesome Project. Daughters of Spring Gun will especially suit JESAULENKO. That's because the classy Group 1 Qld performer Spring Time Girl is by Spring Gun from a daughter of Brett's Rival (from the same direct damline as JESAULENKO). Spring Time Girl is in-bred to Big Daddy Cool, Brett Lee and JESAULENKO's direct damline.
The cross of Spiral Nikita's sister Minnies Surprise (in College Causeway) and Little Denver (in Elite Fairy) makes bitches by Magic Sprite and Oaks Road virtual MUSTS to be mated to JESAULENKO. That's because both Magic Sprite and Oaks Road carry Brett Lee, Spiral Nikita and Little Denver's sister National Dingaan.
Such matings will provide impressive line breeding to aspects of JESAULENKO's pedigree that should be utilised.
Cosmic Rumble bitches too will suit for this reason. He also brings in Spiral Nikita and Brett Lee.
The direct damline of JESAULENKO is also the direct damline of that prolific Victoria winner and successful stud dog Stagger (Primo Uno-Instructed First by Puzzle Prize). They share the same fourth dam Jess Park. Stagger, being by Primo Uno, means JESAULENKO should also be tested with bitches that carry Primo Uno in their pedigree.
They too are everywhere throughout Australia.
They can be picked up via daughters of Fernando Bale, Buckle Up Wes, Worm Burner, Kilty Lad, My Bro Fabio, Surgeon, Turanza Bale, Train A Journey ... a multitude of options.
Daughters of Stagger will be particular "special" as mates for JESAULENKO.
Another high class race dog and successful sire from the Jess Park female family is Peter Rocket (Where's Pedro-Belron Blue) the winner of the Group 1 Dapto Megastar. He is the sire of Group 1 Hume Cup winner Rockoon (from a daughter of Bombastic Shiraz) and Group 2 Shepparton Cup winner Peter Galo (hugely in-bred to the Jess Park family).
JESAULENKO's dam Elite Fairy did well when mated to Where's Pedro so bitches by him (or with his brother Hallucinate) should also be ideal potential mates for JESAULENKO. Again, they are everywhere.
Take a look at the pedigree of JESAULENKO and you will see no Bombastic Shiraz blood and no "Bale" bloodlines, Daughters of Fabregas will be well suited to mating with JESAULENKO. That's because Fabregas has Larkhill Jo (a son of Staplers Jo) as his damsire. Staplers Jo comes into the pedigree of JESAULENKO via his sire College Causeway.
Fabregas' champion son Dundee Osprey was bred along similar lines.
College Tina, the dam of JESAULENKO's sire College Causeway, is also bred on an identical cross to Larkhill Jo so the potential matings to Fabregas daughters takes on even greater importance.
Daughters of Nitro Burst too could suit JESAULENKO. He is by Bombastic Shiraz and is also from the same direct female line. And, two of Nitro Burst's very best offspring, Group stars Zambora Brockie and Smart Missile, are bred on a reinforcement of the I'm Blessed female family.
Being a grandson of Go Wild Teddy also allows JESAULENKO the opportunity to mate bitches with Go Wild Teddy in their pedigree but through females. Daughters of Buck Fever and Shakey Jakey will be particularly important for these types of matings.
JESAULENKO also has only one cross of the famed Malawi's Prince. Bitches with him found multiple times in their pedigree will also suit possible matings to JESAULENKO.
JESAULENKO ticks every box for a potential stud dog success. There are numerous ways to mate him.
