Can any of the breeders on here tell me if frozen straws deteriorate in quality over time?

I am looking to breed from a bitch at some point. Two of the sire options I'm considering have been dead a few years but the stud keeper has frozen straws.

Would this put you off using them?

Used a straw here in Aus from a dog who had been dead for 7 years . Had a good litter with a group winner and 2 other city class dogs .

Nope. Full steam ahead George.

12 months ago I bred from a sire who was born in 1997, & I reckon this pup is the best I've whelped in very stature (Touchwood).

Paul Wheeler did this in 2015, Roanokee would have been 21 years old at the time of the mating.
In the USA it is a lot more common to see older straws being used.

There was a thread on here a good while back about a bitch in whelp to a 38 year old dog. I think it was in Aus and a famous/well known dog.

Saw the progeny later on here but no idea how good they turned out.
Can't find the thread now but someone may remember it.

The same dam had a litter to Kunta Kinte, so they had a few tries with the experiment.
