So after a State wide "Meet Greet, Listen to Participants Concerns" within the Industry. They're come up with a "Puppy Bond"? Probably from that guy living on Mutton Bird Island! I'm staying POSITIVE! but quickly running out of VALIUM.

What upsets me about this whole Puppy Bond is the fact we are assumed to be guilty before the euthanasia policy has been used. I could understand if they had heavy fines and/or long suspensions for participants not adhering to the policy but to assume we won't follow it just shows the distrust management have for us. I believed all the spin at the meet and greet about being in this together but this bond brings in serious doubts and makes me think my broodies would be better off in another state. I doubt the bond will have too much influence on somebody who will do the wrong thing anyway. As breeders in NSW we competing with the other 2 main markets of Victoria and Qld who have put in place breeding incentive programs that will encourage breeders to breed quality pups. Why wouldn't we put in place a incentive scheme of our own if we want to improve the industry. Tony said in his talk at the meet and greet that he wanted to stop the good dogs leaving NSW to Victoria but with this bond the broodies that breed the quality pups in the first place will leave to Victoria and there is no way the pups will come back with the lucrative prizemoney and incentives they can race for down there. I also think some of the pups from these good bitches won't even hit the market for NSW buyers and will further add to the shortage of race dogs in NSW.
Another decision that has given me grief is the idea that the microchipping process doesn't begin till after 12 weeks in NSW, It just had a litter of 10 pups that were not completed till 15 weeks and I am still waiting for the pups papers to send to the buyers. It cost me $500 a week for the litter for the 3 weeks after the 12 week whelping was finished. Is this only in NSW again ? what is the logic behind doing it so late ? You used to be able to pick up your pup at 12 weeks with the papers but now it can up to a extra 4 to 6 weeks.
These taxes will be the end of breeding in Nsw, no one with a decent brood bitch will put up with this rubbish when there is so much better on offer interstate.
How does that low life Scott sleep at night ?

People need to email Miranda Devine. With genuine issues. We need to get it back into the public option stages. Political parties only listen when they are losing public support

Well done Rob! we could all sense and appreciate your concerns! Gladys hasn't changed anything Baird introduced to close the Industry down. Watching her being interviewed over the Stadiums Debacle you can only envisage this was part of Teflon Mikes plans. Guess who will win the Contract? Guess which Bank will under/write all procedures? Gladys talks, but someone else is pulling the strings! still Would you build a home! only to have the builder tell you it needs ripping down and replacing in 18 yrs time? Did they have a GUARANTEE LIFE EXPECTANCY with ANZ? Why aren't people asking? Sorry Glady's is paying for her Premiers Ticket!...With Billions of Tax/Payer money!

Their plan is to close the industry. Little by little, bit by bit.
Slowly and surely. Multi million dollar Integrity and Welfare Units. You know and I know better.

The passion is still there but the flame has gone out.
It's the same old story with most that have enjoyed this industry for generations before the do-gooder stepped in & over-regulated it to death.
When we're gone & have nothing left to do, we'll have our revenge.

I said it before and I will say it again there in bed with the greens and the rspca and the fat cats that run the gra are getting huge wages to do nothing but to get more money from us and close us down I use to breed up to twenty to thirty litters a year now I am lucky to do six why cost and know help from the powers to be.

The new integrity commission is hell bent on some form of bond to show the world they care about retired dogs. Industry participants who have been privy to an audience with the hierarchy are walking away from these meetings with the same comments, there is no business plan attached to this proposal. Rob Ingram's work on a retirement farm at Narromine is a long way forward of anything the commissioners have leaked. Funding could come from corporate bookmaker dividends the industry still hasn't received. To fund this proposal with a levy on breeders at the start of a dogs life will stifle breeding to the point where an undersupply of stock will be guaranteed in two years time. With NSW and VIC supplying around 75% of Australasia's racing stock this could have devastating consequences. The commission is also hell bent on isolating itself from participants, much to the annoyance of nearly every participant. You could read into this that they are prepared to forego the wealth of knowledge and experience that exists in the industry to negate the chance of another Rodney Potter situation.
