Hi Luke,
At a very quick glance, consider looking for a sire with Sobbing Sal attached directly as a dam in his sireline.
The reason being superstar bitch Whippy's Image is from the same line and her sire Solve The Puzzle is very closely related to Sobbing Sal CLICK HERE . So as a start I wld look to reintroduce that Solve the Puzzle niche (thru Sobbing Sal) into the same damline in the hope of recreating a Whippy's Image type.
Barcia cld work but Sobbing Sal may be too far down from the sireline in his pedigree to recreate the intensity required for that special racer.
This is only looking at things from a Whippy's Image perspective. Good luck.
