Would be good to know. I would have thought probably a lot of buy backs.

I'd say it was a successful day.
52 people have bought dogs in the Auction race.

I wouldn't call all the other 75% 'buy backs'

Sure some are buy backs......but I feel a lot never met their 'reserve'.

Why should breeders just let dogs go for ridiculously low prices after all the expense they have gone to?

I think breeders who genuinely want to sell pups should be able to put a 'reserve price' on their pups.

There is no perfect way to go about it.......and after all the turmoil of the past couple of years......I'd say the day was a huge success.

Congratulations to the Ipswich Club!

Agree with you Ricki when 10 month old pups only go to $1500, why would you let them go. Same pups sold for $2500 at 3 months.

Although i agree the buybacks kept the average up, i suspect $4,000 may have averaged out although i didn't keep a tally, i was aware of one seller putting 8 in with the intention of not taking any home & he was happy with the way they averaged out & another putting his whole litter up with the intention of 1 particular one being bought back & he was happy with the end result too, my mate & i had a SH Avatar in which we were intending to buy back but would have let him go if he had reached a price we both had agreed upon but we were tickled pink he only got to $4,000 & stayed with us.

Normally the service fee of the sire used is over $2,000 & with pups 10 to 12 months of age there is 7 -10 months rearing say another $2,000 so $ 4,000 is probably a break even figure so i don't begrudge the people who put them in to buy them back.

I felt there was some genuine Fernando Bale's for sale & was surprised they didn't go that high compared with his service fee.

I must admit there was some really nicely put together dogs & bitches who had had a lot of handling & the presenters of them should be congratulated.

The day was long & with the luck of the draw i suspect the genuine buyers bought in the first 150 not the last 60.

Good one Ipswich Club
