VANDERWORP is a son of the great US dog KELSOS FUSILEER (sire of FERNANDO BALE) out of HIGH RECALL (a winner of 12 from 24 and $50k) who is a full sister to multiple Group 1 winner STAR RECALL (winner of 40 from 71 and $445k). The damline is littered with Group performers going back generations.
VANDERWORP is a winner at 16 of 29 career starts with earnings of $120k and is renowned for his dazzling early and mid race speed. At 19 months of age he made the Group 2 WA Derby final before heading to SA for the SA Derby once again making the final only to be scratched due to a tendon injury. After 6 months on the sidelines he returned for a tilt at the Group 1 Perth Cup where he ran lightning early sectionals to lead his heat everywhere but the post. He then lead throughout in the Group 3 Perth Cup Consolation only to be run down late by the very strong Robert Britton dog BENALI.
VANDERWORP lead his next 5 races at Canninton throughout in quick times at which point it was decided to target the Group 2 Bendigo Cup. He won his heat well after suffering interference mid race beating LIGHTNING FRANK and running past ZOOM OUT up the straight. The Group 2 Final brought together some of the best greyhounds in Australia with BIG FLOOD, ORSON ALLEN, STRIKER LIGHT, BERNARDO, BLACK FORGE, ASTON DUKE and PETER GALO joining VANDERWORP in the final. VANDERWORP exploded from the boxes to lead early then put a space on STRIKER LIGHT through the middle of the race to win the final comfortably by nearly 2 lengths leading all the way.
VANDERWORP has commenced stud duties with frozen semen available from Kudah in Western Australia. Initially we are making a limited amount of straws available FREE to breeders who have suitable broodbitches that are on season. Vanderworp will serve his first bitch today, the Cannington track record holder and front running stayer Dubliner. Dubliner is a daughter of Bekim Bale out of a Collision bitch.
This breeding will be similar to when Tears Siam (daughter of Bekim Bale) went to Fernando Bale (son of Kelsos Fusileer) to produce Tornado Tears and Rippin Sam.

10 beautiful Vanderworp pups delivered this morning out of Starlight Cali, a lightly raced Kinloch Brae bitch out of the amazing producer Starlight Delly from the Winsome Bluebird, Winsome Duchess damline.

Oldest pups look great and are very keen, looking forward to seeing how they break in in a few months.

Looks to be some real rockets in his first two litters.
His first to hit the track looks like being a black dog named READY FOR MAGIC (Vanderworp x Dubliner) who should be in a Qualifying Trial at Cannington next Wednesday. He's shown ability from a young age and has already gone 29.94 at Cannington over the 520m. He has a litter sister and brother also showing a heap of ability.
Second litter has just finished break in at The Oaks, Vanderworp x Weedle Monelli pups. Still very young but ran quick time (19.35, 19.58, 19.71) and look to have a heap of ability.
All are still very young but couldn't be happier with his first two litters at this stage.
