Definitely too old but particularly if it is her 1st litter, it's a stressful event.

No issue at all. We had a litter last year with a bitch that was around the same age.
Dont expect a big litter though.

Maybe there is a few more issues/risks with broods this age but if the Irish didn't breed this CLICK HERE then we wouldn't have had Temlee or Brother Fox

Eoin,, Nothing at all wrong with asking the question, this is what this site is for. Having said that, she has had 3 litters and in the prime of her life at 9 years old and probably best to "surf the couch". If she was well performed as a brood, you may be best to look at one of her bitch pups if you want to keep the line going. (Just my opinion)

Quote "As long as the bitch handles her births I cannot see no reason not to keep going up to around 8-9 or 10 so much depends on so many factors . Promises free had 8 litters and her last litter was around 11 years old . She's a Swifty had a fantastic litter at around 9 years old . Gun Law Osti had a handy dog at the age of around 9 ...Called BRETT LEE Age has no importance on the quality of pups she can produce IMO"Unquote.
