What an amazing performance of sheer speed and strength last night by this dog
To run a 29.38 track record at Albion Park in a Group 1 final against a pretty hot field speaks volumes for this dog
Congrats to Steve, Bill and Kirin and any other members of the team involved
Its a red letter day for SA Breeding
CLICK HERE His damsire Kinloch Brae really starting to show up as a yop broodsire
Another sire in his damline who shows up in the pedigree of some very good dogs lately is Vapour Whirl, also in Lightning Frank, Cash Point and many others
And another Group dog coming from the line started by Sydney Gem whose dam was an Irish import called Monalee Again
And his own sire....say no more..the great Fernando Bale who used to break them up like Sennachie did last night
Looks interesting for barcia bale broods through vapour wirl
Has this son of Fernando got 2 testicles ?
Congrats to all associated , well done

Great race and great promotion by Racing Qld
Bulgana .Nashemraro Sheedy .rich return Dallas duo plus a host of others coming from this damline best being Sydney Dingan when she quinalled the melbourne cup with her litter mate Shining Chariot ..Trained by the Great Ned Bryant ..Brings back memories of a dominant Damline that held up for year after year .....One of the best damlines for many years ...all class ....Bred to be a superSire ..
PS sorry to correct, but Sydney Dingaan and Shining Chariot, not litter mates, maybe kennel mates?

Well done Sandro
I love a great positive post
I was hoping someone would mention the amazing run of Sennachie ...
It blows my mind this dog could do this after been fought badly only a few weeks earlier ....not once did take his eyes come off the lure that night & to me, it impressed me almost as much as the record run
The other consideration when thinking about this dog as a future sire is his litter is full of speed machines with one brother acknowledged as being as fast ...
cheers
Shane
Ps 16-1 pre-odds for the series was a great result :P

Sennachie is a sensational greyhound!
He blew away a top class field......and again posted a flying time (29.41).
Along with Simon Told Helen & Hooked on Scotch......its a golden era of chasers & I can't wait to see these 3 compete.

Interposing in an earlier comment, I suggest Sennachie and his sire are quite different dogs.
Fernando was not only brilliant but consistent and virtually unbeatable at 450m and probably 520m but no further. His greatest asset was his first 50m.
On the other hand, Sennachie would not lead him early but is more likely to run him down by the end of a sprint trip. His last 50m would be far better - maybe just as good as Hooked on Scotch but that is yet to be seen. Of those two, Sennachie is the better race dog in a full field.
I doubt we will ever see Sennachie over a longer trip - there is no need - but he looks like he could handle it. I imagine the breed will be in very good hands.

Huge Congrats to all connections of Sennachie. His pedigree is a template of modern breeding I see he doesnt have a lot of Temlee blood so his diversity in pedigree will attract a lot of breeders, in other words this dog will go good over just about any damline Look forward to watching his future pups win heaps.

Sennachie is an awesome race dog, but Hooked On Scotch is quicker, stronger and doesn't have to lead to win. He's head and shoulders above every other dog in Australia and in another league to Sennachie

Matt,
Re "Sennachie is an awesome race dog, but Hooked On Scotch is quicker, stronger and doesn't have to lead to win. He's head and shoulders above every other dog in Australia and in another league to Sennachie".
Perhaps in isolation but that does not mean always. After all, Hooked on Scotch lost the Melbourne Cup fair and square. Never looked like winning.
As I ventured, "Sennachie is the better race dog in a full field" and that's where the money is.
Winning races is about many things, not just the "quickest and strongest". And generally not two out. Ex- or current trainers commenting on SKY often get this wrong. So did Thompson when he forecast HOS could come out better in the Mel Cup - not impossible but highly unlikely in view of its history.
Anyway, more power to both of them.

We'll have to agree to disagree. Yeah Hooked On Scotch lost the Melbourne Cup final fair and square, but at least he made the final (truthfully a few superior dogs to the winner lost the Melbourne Cup final, but that's a different argument. The dog that showed up and jumped made it's own luck run a great race when it mattered most).
Anyway how many times has sennachie beat hooked on scotch in a full field or 2 out? I have no problems with sennachie, he's a super quick dog, but Hooked on Scotch has him covered
