Really starting to struggle for nominations, I see tonight at Shepparton there are quite a few 6 dog fields and the last race has 5, is there any short term solution to the problem..
Long term it's breeding enough pups to sustain the racing calendar, in Victoria they were reimbursing DNA tests and the fee for registering the broodbitch, is this still the case?

Yes Peter there is a solution as far as the GRV are concerned....

Guess what it is ....

Build a brand new track at Traralgon that's the answer so they say ..
I will say it again and again Traralgon is a WASTE OF MONEY

I would rather see the money spent on a system that enables all retired greyhounds to have full Vet care ...for life
Sack 300 of the GRV staff and you still have over 300 left ...Wages alone has blown out to a point that it is no longer sustainable and i hear rumblings that not all is well inside HQ at present.....

I await to see the day the GRV finally listen to OTB and the foster adoption groups ....

Could someone name one business in the World that would employ so many to regulate and control such a small enterprise ...of a few Thousand..

The GRV are still fumbling there way along not listening to its own people

Foster and Adoption groups are struggling to pay Fuel and Vet bills and the GRV are not even listening to these guys and many times these Groups take the greyhounds who fail GAP the first time so its not only racing that is struggling it's all of these groups as well .

I do believe the GRV are Toxic from within and are to busy worrying about their own egos to really give a dam about our Future ......

I didn't know it was a problem?
According to one state, it is an initiative.

JQ ...I think South Australian Racing is not to bad when you compare apples for apples our regulators are still squandering millions a year here in Victoria and the Government still have their eyes closed...

If South Australia had the Money the GRV have then you would see SA come out on top and who can not be impressed by the new track they built ...

Staff numbers alone tells its own tale ....
Im thinking about shifting over your way maybe i will go out West who knows .lol..

The new Code of Practice will take out half of the industry's Trainers and breeders ......and Owners .

The new Syndicates cost over 3k for each Syndicate Greyhound so the GRV and Sandown have made sure to really bend us over once again ...

The big claim is that Spollys is the only recognised syndicater in Victoria and Australia now ...so once again the GRV have made it harder even for your mates to form a syndicate ..
Spollys has been paid from the GRV funds ...WHY was this DONE TO SERVE WHAT PURPOSE ...

I can go on and on JQ ....

Welcome the land of milk and honey
Fantastic down at the Bool
The weather down your way would freeze the nuts off a brass monkey

.Wouldn't it be great to have a straight track over your side of town for the North North east side of Victoria ...

I think SA would welcome me with open arms and im Positive Kev with SA GR JQ .
GRSA may offer me a job in the entertainment sector JQ ....

Peter,

Shepparton is the new norm.

Breeding requires investment. In turn, that means investors must assess all the pros and cons and then decide to buy a pup rather than a new TV or whatever. Even then, it is often more a social decision rather than a business one.

Administrators believe that fiddling with a few fees and rules will fix the shortfall. Wrong, it won't. It just saves money for people who were going to breed anyway.

What they should be doing is finding out why people are not investing (whether old or new people) and then creating programs to reverse the situation.

20 or 30 years ago you might have bought a car with no aircon. Today, you want a reversing camera in a $20k job. And you will get it, too.

Kids no longer walk to school - they want a chauffeur.

That TV is half the price it used to be - and it's better quality.

Your clothes come from Asia, not Australia.

Flying to England once cost a year's wages and took the best part of a week. Bradman's team went by boat.
