Tonight again sees 8 races on the card at SP. This is a disgrace at a time when regulars at SP and the old Harolds Cross cant get their dogs on the card. This is grossly unfair to many owners and trainers.
It also shows total disregard for those booking restaurant packages. Booking a table in the restaurant for dinner on Tuesday night cost the same as booking the same on a Saturday night. Except the Saturday night punter gets 12 and sometimes 13 races. However muggins who books the Tuesday only gets 8 races and is on his way home from the track when Saturdays punter is settling in to watch race 9, 10, 11, and 12.
So one pays the same price for 8 races on Tuesday and gets real good value on Saturday night with 12 or 13 races.
Viewed from another perspective the ordinary punter who has attended Harolds Cross and Shelbourne Park for many many years pays their 10.00 at the turnstile on Tuesday night and only gets 8 races. That person is on their way home after the last race at 9.40 PM.
Is it any wonder the punters are deserting the Sport of Greyhound Racing.
Listen to the bullshit "We cant get the dogs".In fact that is the greatest load of shit Bulls or Dogs that you will ever hear.
There is a concerted effort to get rid of owners and trainers on Tuesday nights. This may be driven by Head Office who want to close SP on Tuesday nights. Don't be one bit surprised if there is a mention of that in the Indecon report, due out sometime this century.
I have had a number of complaints from owners and trainers who cannot get races for their dogs, in fact a large number of dogs have been let run out of time. This to ensure their dogs don't get a run and a concerted effort to run the trainers out of the business.
Things will have to change and very fast at that otherwise I can see a situation where Owners and Trainers will be outside Stadiums with the Antis protesting at the lack of races for their dogs.
Recently a trainer (WHO TRAINS FOR A LIVING) and has 54 race dogs and 6 brood bitches in his care was forced to move out of SP as he found it impossible to survive on one per night.
Anyone else have trouble getting your dogs on in SP in particular on Tuesday nights?
I Rest My Case.

What chance have you got of getting dogs on from Lifford in Shelbourne Park when the racing managers wont even put on the Local Dublin dogs?
We hears rumors in Dublin that the Duffy Brothers wish to sell out to a Luxury Hotel Group. TRUE OR FALSE?
After the Indicon report is issued there will be a lot less tracks for everyone to race your dogs. Both North and South of the Brexit border.
Don't forget when the election is called in the South of Ireland you have the opportunity to spit on the shower of bastards who closed Harold's Cross. Fine Gael ably assisted by Mr. Martin and the FF party. FG were in power however Mr. Martin was in control
of the Government.
To those in Lifford I would suggest you contact the racing managers in SP and enter your dogs. This should be done by email if at all possible. You should state the Name, Grade and distance you wish to enter your dog for. That way you have a record of your request. Phone bookings are not recommended under any circumstances.
The other week there wasn't enough dogs to put on a 9th race, yet there were 3 pages of reserves on the same race card. Not to mention two dogs in the same ownership and trainer in the same race. One dog having to be withdrawn leaving a 5 dog race.
The Industry/ Sport is in a serious state and nothing will be done until the Owners,Breeders,Trainers,Bookmakers and Punters stand up and be counted. A similar style ousting of the IGB board as recently seen in the Football Association Of Ireland.
500,000 in Travel Expenses for the IGB brigade. Who do they think they are, RTE?
To many this is a Trade a Profession a Job a Hobby however to the IGB it is a form of Pocket Money. The Board Members All have alternative incomes. If they are so interested in the betterment of the Industry/ Sport then why don't the offer their services for the next two years Free Gratis. Ask them to volunteer their services and you will see a dash for the car park in HQ like never before.
The time is near, very near that some action will need to be enacted in order to rescue the Greyhound Industry/Sport.
