Just an observation.

I've been out of the game for a while now. In my absence, have the incredibly prolific Wheeler dam lines (Which were rightly or wrongly considered Stud Dog poison) swung around and become a line of sires rather than a maternal gold mine?

I don't see the Bale/Dyna dominance of City and Group racing there was 5-10 years ago.

Never thought I'd see Wheeler sires 1, 2, 3 on the top sires list.

Thanks guys. Got out of the industry for a while. Two reasons, Bekim Bale and Djays Octane. What the hell was I thinking? It confirmed my suspicions that I have no idea when it comes to breeding and selecting sires.

Anyway back to the topic. What happened to Paul Wheeler's Coursing Sire experiment?

You should have kept a Bekim Bale brood...hes proving a decent dam sire!

To My Bro Fabio, a Bekim Bale brood produces 64% city winners to pups born and to Fernando Bale, a Bekim Bale brood produces 44% city winners to pups born.

When you compare the best sire Fernando Bale has a 20% city winners to pups born to any random blood. The above stats are enormous!

Look at the dam of freakishly fast Embye...24 starts 2 wins at Ippy in moderate time! Along with a few other moderately performed Bekim Bale broods to have produced the goods next gen!

You were halfway to maybe breeding stars with Bekim Bale...

Well that stint back in the Greyhound game didn't last long. Lol

Bailing out again for the same reason as the first time, bloody non chasers and unproven sires.

See you dog bums again in another 5 or 6 years, when in another moment of madness I decide to hsve another go. Note to self, reread this post if you are stupid enough to consider getting back into the dogs.

Best wishes everyone.

a small breeder using an uproven sire is complete MADNESS i know i used to do it ,, by listening to idiots and taking their advise ,

proper rearing can sometimes help the chase issue , if the work is put into it

Ryan,

larger breeders can absorb the odd failed litter , let them take the risk ,

there is enough risk without adding unproven sires , just my opinion

so you research the potential mating from a sire that's never produced a litter, interesting ?

and you research the same from the dam who has never had a litter either , ?

i didn't say it dosent work , i said its MADNESS and not for me

Thats fair enough Michael & I respect that it isnt everyones favourite pathway, for me when your dealing with finding the Pathway that you believe in & have researched you got to back yourself.
