And regarding Zambora Brockie, just my opinion again but I'll be 100% honest, I'm not a fan in any way of Zambora Brockie progeny and think he's massively overrated because realistically he's had 100 litters and 5-10 good dogs and even they have good and bad days (watch how hard his pups chased in St. Ledger final after flying in heats). But on his comeback in SA I think he deserves benefit of the doubt a little bit because he was a year older, with a different trainer and had achieved plenty before that. But Zambora Brockie has nothing to do with Hooked On Scotch

It's the old saying 10 people can watch the same race and have 10 different opinions. Some people will just rush in to Hooked on Scotch, others will wait and see what his pups are like

just to clarify my point , i got no idea what his stud fee will be , nor do i care , i wont be using him until proven,,
what i meant with 2/3 thousand was , that may be the premium i have to pay once proven, thats above what ever his unproven fee may be

100% Agree....

,,,,,

I changed my opinion of Hooked on Scotch
...ZB is over rated and HOS has a lot to prove before i would use him and after seeing his replays it kind of reminds of Surgeon..and ..Bekim Bale ..

Breed with a nonnies expect to get at least 50% of his pups with the same trait .

Kevin ,
Are you insinuating H.O.S is a nonny & will throw nonnies ? , your comment is very harsh imo & comparing H.O.S to Surgeon is laughable to say the least , Bekim Bale is an above average sire imo as he did manage to produce 3 sons that ended up going to stud which is more than I can say for alot of other stud dogs.

If you watch that race at the Meadows on YouTube, you can go to settings and slow it down to 0.25 speed.
It clearly shows the dog hurting himself in the run through the pen.
And the stewards report backs that up with right-side injuries in 3 spots.

You can find fault in any sire if you look hard enough.

Branko im not the sucker breeding to a unproven sire ....I can name at least 6 presents sires who i would rate higher IMO than HOS ..

Opinions are like assholles everyone has one i have mine you have yours .In the end i would NOT touch his stock at all until PROVEN and then i may change my mind ...

How boring would Data be if we all agreed with each other in the end Stud Dogs come and go every 6 months or so.
Branko there must be now at least 20 Son's of Barcia Bale at Stud so HOS has to get in line and prove himself with ordinary Bitches before you can say he will be a Great sire ...

Did you count them all Mark ...
I admit maybe not 20 but a good dozen or so possible future replacements for BB

Barcia Bale himself is still the best option IMO if you want that Blood

The strength of any Great Sire is the amount of Son's and grandsons and great grandsons he leaves behind who are currently throwing fast pups continuously for every generation ..

In Greyhound History there has been only a few of these Sirelines today that have gone from strenght to strenght not strength to weakness IMO ....

I wouldn't have no regrets if a bred a litter any way regardless if it was the flavour of the month or not .

As long as you are Happy Mark then who really gives a shit but i do like a few of BB sons myself but they are proving themselves the hard way and that's something i always look for ..

All the best with your pups its a long hard road to the top .

Out of interest which BB sons have you used?

Have used a couple myself. I love Aston Dee Bee pups (currently) and all but 1 mepunga blazer pups are nice, but unfortunately the rotten one in the litter is extremely rotten.

Curious about peoples opinions on other sons because I'll be honest the reports ive heard Aston throws the nicest temperament out of all so far

"Very classy / professional" being called a sucker by a Data Team Member for being a fan of & wanting to use Superstar H.O.S , I'm confident he'll be a big success at stud but will gladly eat my words if he isn't

Listen Bud take your bullshit somewhere else for your information i have no admin rights on GD or have i ever had any admin rights on here i do facebook thats it ..
so pull your head in and read what i wrote before trying to kick me in the balls....

Use what ever Sire you want i dont give a shit use Margins back your own judgment why don't you instead of beating the drum for HOC .

LOL @ mentioning my dog , seriously your name is on the team list which is why I mistakenly thought you were a Data Team Member , unfortunately I hit a nerve / offended you accidentally , I can't help being a big fan of Hooked On Scotch & by the way I know how risky it is using an unproven sire as I've done it in the past. I'm very relaxed & i agree with you that everyone has a right to their own opinion.

There is only one path to true happiness X and Y

Do you know Ryan that Artificial intelligence (AI) can change the DNA within man and beast so technically we could create Temlee or ZoomTop in the very near future

Not changing thread. Love HOS and think he will be a decent sire. Just wanted to say though Ben., please have a look at Aston Dee Bee for Neytiri Queen. Iím sure this mating should produce something special. $#/+ hope I havenít said too much. Cheers

He was a consideration at one stage. So was magic sprite.... but I love the dam line of HOS over my girls, as well as the barcia side works with this line also.
