We are all breeding geniuses in hindsight.
I'd like to put out a challenge. There are 30 litters for sale here on Greyhound Data. Pick one litter and tell us why you think they will be champions. It can be XY theories, city class dam line theories, proven sire to proven dam theories or what ever floats your boat theories.
We can revisit the thread in 3 or 4 years to see just who got it right and what theory they chose. It will be like the longest dog race in history, but interesting none the less.
There are a couple of of self proclaimed gurus, I'd absolutely love to hear from.
What do you think?

Don't go searching for a Guru. When the pain of ignorance within you becomes a scream, a Guru will come in search for you.

Hi Paul, this will be an interesting thread. Let me start it off with:
1. Lilly fox is a young bitch 2. She is from a good litter with a good dam line. 3. She was not over raced having only 8 races winning 6 of them. 4. Lily had early speed in all of her races. 5. Zambora Brockie had early speed so the mating should pass this onto the pups. 6. The mating gives a nice cross to Bombastic Shiraz and sets the future breeding of the pups up for a complete outcross to Irish or USA lines.
and most importantly my grandmothers name was Lily.

G'day Paul,i quite liked the Moreira x Eminence litter even though it is her first lot of pups. She is from a nice producing / racing damline & her grand dam being a very handy staying bitch. I love the Collision cross & 2 x 2 cross that Malawis Prince brings into play, also the Light Of Fire influence. Sorry mate,i can't put the mating up,but well worth a look. Cheers mate.
Ryan, where are you mate...oh,..still counting that folding stuff from yesterday, lol.

I don't know if they'll get 500m, but the Magic Sprite x Claire De Lune litter should produce some very quick pups
My reasoning is Magic Sprite produces a lot better natural chase than pretty much every current popular sire (Barcia Bale, El Grand Senor and Magic Sprite aren't current), Claire De Lune is unbelievable bred and the Magic Sprite x Barcia Bale cross (broodies sire) is proven
But I'm far from a guru

A guru could place his chips on a litter only for them to be reared in sub standard conditions be poorly educated and not make the track. 3 years down the track that guru is a muppet.....

Simon it is harder to BREED A city winner than it is to put a needle into the eye of a camel.

Not that I consider myself a guru by any means, but I've purchased a pup. I'm going to keep schtum about the breeding though I'm afraid.
The pups meets all my criteria.
1. Out of a Group class City winning bitch. 2. From a group class dam line. 3. By a young up and coming sire. I used to be all about proven sires, but when I reviewed our previous successes (limited as they were) they had been from unproven young sires. 4. The dam has had a much needed import sire refresh.
In a couple of years time I'll let you know either way.
Good luck everyone

I'm willing to back my judgement with the above litter i've bred !!!!! I normally don't use unproven sires but Pindari was to hard to ignore for Dusty !!!!!

That's a bit of a cop out Paul :-)
You want "expert" opinions from all the "Gurus" on here but aren't willing to expose the good or bad choice you've just made with your recent purchase.
Come on spill your guts.

Haha classic. That's the same reasoning the Greyhound Data experts use when they breed fud litters.

You certainly did a better job with the damline than I did, Kev? Top work mate.

She's Grand very nice bitch that could handle plenty of racing.
