Found a list of track record breakers at the old Gabba track in Brisbane. Makes for interesting reading and how the greyhound breed improved so much from the time the Gabba first started in 1972 and closed in 1992.

Argh yes, fond memories. The old Top Simbi Bar, with 70's beige and brown decor. Walking down into the maelstrom that was the betting ring under the stand. Huge crowds in the grandstand actually cheering the dogs home. Bookmakers over near the hill because there was no room in the main ring. A chance to almost reach out and touch the dogs on the first turn, it was that close.

It was a bit of a goat track to be honest. Very much a track specialist circuit. Top Simbi and Dancing Gamble were freaks around there. Sorry that's enough reminiscing, back on topic.

The 420m sprint times didn't improve much, but the 558m (10 lengths)and 704m (a full second) times improved incredibly.
