Has anyone else used this clinic recently?.. Have a broodbitch on season and because it is a weekend they are charging emergency rates for the implant... Have always used McIvor Rd and have used them twice just recently... Is this normal practice?.. This may be the last time I use this Vet it seems...

Brett, Sue Collins now works a few days a week at Shepp dogs, (Has a practice set up next to kennel block) McIvor road is nothing like it was when Sue had it. Nnext closest one for greyhounds would be Craigieburn Animal Hospital (Michael Bell) Chees and good luck.

Not sure if it is helpful, I have two appointments booked in for this Monday, I can give up one of them if you need one ASAP, as my understanding is that Sue only works at McIvor every Monday fortnight, and the appointments are usually well and truely booked out in advance. Not sure if the appointment block I have will be sufficient time for you. I can private message you my mobile, and if viable - we would have to call McIvor first thing Monday morning.
P.s. I think their pricing has risen, the quotes I got over the phone for the greyhounds, seemed to be just like domestic pricing. I suppose I will find out for sure Monday.

I understand they have changed hands and the pricing has changed... My exception is they call themselves McIvor Rd Vet Clinic Mon-Fri and change their name from Friday 7pm just so they can charge you double on the weekend... Basically if your bitch ovulates at the wrong time you are punished... If that is the way they wish to run their business no dramas... But after Mondays insemination I will not be returning... Will vote with my feet...

Some Vets charge like a wounded Bull .

McIvor Rd is not a respected Greyhound Vet clinic any more stay away dont even bother using them for c5 or Implants on Greyhounds .

Greedy Vets i could write a list of horror stories all related to the Humble Greyhound Vet
Sandown Vets i would never use them again over 30 years dealing with Greyhound Vets Sandown by far is the greediest Vets regarding storage fees of semen and i think these Vets all forgot the amount of money that was directed to there clinics for breeding before live baiting .

Our Industry should have our own VETS only for racing Greyhounds our industry could fund it easily in every state at every track

No post-op care notes or sperm quality report or expected whelp date.

On the blacklist for me.

What sort of a quote is one that is out by 57.14%?

Was the difference ever explained to you?

Not adequately....

They said the quote did not include prog tests or boarding.
I would have expected a quote to either be comprehensive, or have the quote detailed for what it does and does not include.

In contrast, the Vet Group at W'bool charged $1100 which includes an ultrasound and check-up at 4 weeks, as well as the post-op notes and sperm quality etc.
