What is a " Safe Chase " dual carriage lure ?? How is the " carriage " dual?? I can only guess they count the back-up lure, ( flat battery etc). Rather noiseless, and i wrongly assumed it would be carrying a dual lure. The Richmond straight lure, " safe chase", resembles a snot rag on a chop stick. Ah well, i guess thats progress. Just saying!!.

Russ,

The big issue here is that there have been countless experiments of different sorts of lures plus UTS recently has thrown in more.

Never has any authority published results or made comments - with the possible exception of GRSA but their surveys and responses to questions were rubbish due to low response rates. QLD also did a couple of long tests at Albion but they did not really check out many differing types - only what they already had.

Similar comments have been made about Follow On programs - no results or even summaries or analyses.

So the knowledge bank is bare. Which is possibly why dogs are getting punched into the rail at Traralgon from close-in boxes.

Greyhound racing has a bad habit of changing something but never working out whether it was worthwhile or not.

PS I am struggling to work out why we ended up with four distances at Traralgon.
