Hey Guys, looking for sire suggestions for my Bitch Lara's Double.

She was a relatively successful bitch herself. I am relatively knew to the breeding of greyhounds (this will be my 7th litter) so looking for expert opinions on Sires.

She has 1 litter to My Redeemer that have just turned 11 Months old and they are all lovely looking animals. The litter all chase hard and bite on in the slipping straight. While they are looking very promsing I have no formal times etc so hard to say at this point.

Thanks in advance for the advice, Mitch

Hi Mitchell for what it's worth .Unless you are prepared to keep the whole litter, I wouldn't spend all the money for the service fee and all the other costs to get them to the track. I couldn't see any one buying them. You would be better off buying some nice bitch pups to race and breed with later on.

Thanks for your feedback Jack. I have full intentions of breeding her myself and rearing the pups myself as well. Is there a reason in particular you think she wouldnt be desirable as a breeder? Cheers

Hi Michell, all the best with the litter.on GD ratings she won't rate high. But the funny thing about breeding is you just can't tell.If you want to keep all the pups then it's not a commercial concern.May be a dog like wow could be ok.He holds 3 TR and won group races.
Cheers jack

Hey Mitchell, Darrens mating looks good and his first crop are showing the goods. Koblenz looks interesting featuring Spiral Nikita and Premier Fantasy who bring together the brothers in Curryhills Fox and Skelligs Tiger. Aston Rupee gives a double of flying Amy in X. Dyna Tron looks good with GRB rising to the top. WOW gives a 4x4 sex balance of GWT and brings in Wheres Pedro in X. I believe you live in the same area as me on the Mid North Coast and I did see a Dyna Villa straw up this way which could also be a reasonable option. He was a great race dog and as a sire is very underrated and under used. JMO. Cheers

Hi Mitch,

When Brent and I looked at Lara's dam from a blood profile angle, his request was to look at breeding a staying type if possible, so in preferring DDO from that perspective I looked at linebreeding DDO's dam Crystin Bale with Gun Law Osti https:/ CLICK HERE to create that high minimum 88% intensity, where 14 of the 16 lines are duplicated within 5 gens thru different individuals if you look at the blood quota table below.

Of course as you know that mating resulted with Brent breeding the National Distance Champion Reidy's Runner.

If you look at Redeemer's dam with GLO in the same light https:/ CLICK HERE i.e., linebreeding thru different individuals, you can see it's too heavy where the niche doesn't have any room to breathe with all 16 lines duplicated. In these situations, I've only seen the result being short course types. Hopefully there will be an exception to that rule.

The obvious option/temptation is to linebreed Bombastic Shiraz, Hallucinate or Credibility thru different individuals and there will likely be some reasonably popular sires out there that will do the job, but Brent in is wisdom decided to overide that temptation with a very nice piece of lateral thinking and reaped the rewards.

Hope that helps you with having a go with your girl and g/l. Cheers.

Thanks Very Much for your wealth of knowledge and its nice to have some history as well. This was the first litter I ever bred and chose Redeemer as a sire because lara's Sister, captain Jackie, had a litter to him that was performing quite well.

I would like to try to breed some longer distance pups so would love to know more of your thoughts in regards to a sire with more distance. Thanks again for your help and the other guys above. This is my first time starting a topic on GD and i'm pleased with the support!

Haha, some big owners and trainers and a head line bitch have enquired. Itd need to be some offer, for us to not put it again into Frieda.

Good luck, whichever way you go. Her mother was poorly performed, but a litter sister to G1 Kiss Me Ketut. So, Id have a go with your girl as well. Especially, with Flying Amy and Tenthill Flyer on the tail line. Envious!!

The dam line is well proven to cross with itself - EXTERNAL LINK and https:/ CLICK HERE as well - https:/ CLICK HERE

In a similar theory would Elite State be worth considering as a sire? Or are they ancestors to closely linked?

I like this pedigree
An old sire with a sireline still alive through his sons ( unlike RA )
This pedigree a good example of Back to the Future sireline breeding
Thumbs up for me. I should mention Elite State not known for throwing strength

This niche fits that Reidy's Runner criteria https:/ CLICK HERE at a very high 94% linebreeding intensity within 5 gens, as Newmore King is also cross duplicated if you look at the blood quota table below.

So you may be a chance of breeding a longer distance type using Elite State but niche's click somewhere between 35%-45% of the time imo , so I wld need to have things like x path, other front page linebreeding intensities, outcross positioning, xy angle (in this case to the mighty Brother fox) adding to the pedigree as well.

I agree with Graham too, at face value(without checking all of the above) it looks ok. g/l Mitch.
