I am pleased to announce the new addition to Meticulous Lodge, "Nitro Burst".

I received a phone call from owner "Adam Cruschieri" asking me if I would like to stand the dog as they wanted to bring the dog back home to Victoria to stand which I gladly accepted.

He is a stunning specimen of a greyhound who is in fantastic order being under the astute care of John Carruthers who served approximately 15-20 bitches in the few months he was there.

With the recent domination of his father "Bombastic Shiraz" and being from one of Australia's premier and multiple Group 1 producing dams in "Hotburst" he has plenty to offer. Producing the likes of Pure Burst, Lady Gaga, Jail Burst, Vapourise, Extra Burst, Storm Burst, Zac Power, Translader, Utimate Deano Atomic Burst ect, the depth in his pedigree is certainly there.

A Group 1 Vic Peters winner and 3rd in the 2008 Group 1 Melbourne Cup at just 2 years and 1 month of age, the best was never seen of him after he tragically broke his hock in March this year with $109,380 in stakemoney at just 29 months of age.

His stud fee will remain at $880 and frozen semen will be distributed all over Australia in the coming weeks. I can be contacted on 0412 887 226

Its very hard for any sire to get a chance away from their general racing state, even if he won a Group races around Australia...look at Trewly Special and his brother in QLD....

Congrats on an excellent pick-up, Westy....another different sire and damline for the stud.....The thing u got to luv about him is he was fast and that his mother produced brilliantly to alot of lines...

cheers

Nice one Paul

He is an unproven dog I have considered using...

I like his breeding on his dam's side as it contains Hotshot and another strain of the National Lass line as well as the Marungi Band damline

He showed us enough in his short career to prove he could have been up there with Velocette and co as one of Bombastic's best sons

I hope you get a nice 'burst' of bitches to start him off

Cheers mate

PS How is the bambina (Italian for 'little girl') coming along?

Hey Paul, more work for yourself? so much for "looking to take it a little easier"...and guess what - NO BRETT LEE!

Good dog on the track, with very nice damlines, and given the increased difficulty in obtaining Bombastic Shiraz (demand), then breeders may opt for "Nitro" - all the best with him.

Well done Paul - Nitro Burst has a fantastic pedigree and we never got to see him racing at the age when the Bombastics show their best.

I reckon if you can upload more of his races onto GD it will help get him more business - and may generate some overseas interest. Especially since they can't get Bombastic Shiraz at all.
Cheers,
Tom

Thanks Shane,

Well said mate. The point you made about his mother producing to so many different lines is something I will emphasise on also and is the exact comment I made to Adam about being a big plus for the dog.

Cheers

paul,

100 free breedings to get the dog up and running , pups on the ground ,

if he's good enough the money will be recouped a 100 times over ,

i think the stud fee is expensive , but i guess its a small part of breeding a litter

good luck with him, and you are getting some nice dogs there paul

He's damline has produced that many winners and continually throws winners so he's got the pedigree behind him.

Velocette was a champion that reached his potential and proved himself at the highest level. Nitro Burst unfortunately didn't get that extra 6-12 months of racing that would've seen him hit his prime racing age and quite possibly win more Group races. IMO to win what he did and compete against open age/class dogs as a two year old dog at the highest level was outstanding!

Our litte bambina is bella!!! I'm still over the moon and quite frankly probably will be until she's a teenager. lol

Thanks Sandro

Ha Ha. Yeah let's just say, I couldn't help myself. Maybe you could persuade your better half to move to Australia and you can visit for 40 hours a week instead of 4 hours. It was great to meet you face to face mate. Hope all's well and you enjoyed your stay in Victoria.

Hey Tom

There is no doubt Bombastic's get better with age. I've had so many inquiries from Ireland and England for Meticulous and like other studmasters in this country, we just have to find the right person to deal with. As soon as I do, I will send plenty over.
Thanks for your input to re. uploading races. I'll definately be putting them on my meticulouslodge.com website with my computer guru and I'll do my best to figure out how to do it on GD.

Thanks again

Hey Mick,

There is no doubt numbers are very important but I don't think you want to have you're dog openly perceived as a freebie, as it de-values their pups and the breeders that like to get a decent price for their pups might detract from using him. I'm sure he'll get bitches on his merits as a Group 1 winner and beautifully bred stud dog.

As you said "the stud fee is small part of breeding a litter" and when you look at some of the average strike rates on some of the seasoned proven stud dogs on "Razordots" stats, I think now is as good a time as any to take a chance on some of the up and comers.

By the way, you're property looks a treat mate and if I could pick your track up and move it onto my place, I'd be happy to pay overs. lol

Talk soon Mick

For those that are interested in viewing Nitro Burst's races they have now been uploaded onto our web site.

EXTERNAL LINK
More pictures in particular some still shots will be updated in the next 24 hours.

The owners and I have decided to offer a special on frozen semen that I think will really benefit the interstate clients in particular, to get a beautifully bred Group 1 winner for $440.

His fertility is as good as it gets and he gets around the 9 splits, per ejaculate so it makes sense to offer a special price and get plenty of his pups on the ground.

Cheers

Paul, what's the best way for me to get a vial/straw of FS? Although I'm in Sydney and could keep it at a few places here, I'd probably look at having it at Katakasi in Adelaide where I have another straw. Will you send any there?

Cheers,
Gaz
