Then theres this girl who will be served in the next couple of days
CLICK HERE Then finally this one hopefully within the next few weeks
CLICK HERE So alot of projects that have been in the pipeline have now come to fruition and time will tell how we fair.
Terry im sure you know the dogs history considering you have posted on his thread early days, and no just because he broke a T/R at MAITLAND over 400mts wouldnt warrant a stud career in most cases but he isnt most cases. Im sure youve read his history but i will post it again for your sake and i hope people dont think im pinching this thread.
IVAN was as fast as dogs get b4 his accident and i have no doubt he would have gone a lot faster today if he was sound. He ran 16.37 first slip at IPPY from the yellow pole and anyone that knows IPPY times will know that that is freak status. His 2nd slip he was going that fast he almost caught the lure down the back and the lure driver went to speed it up but the lure stopped a metre in front of him and he smashed his inside back leg. HE shattered his knee, tore his calf muscle to pieces, ripped his leg from groin to calf and broke his leg. My vet (JERRY KING) rang me at 7.30pm that night and said it was worse than i could imagine and he wouldnt race again , and if he did he would be at least 1/2 sec slower and i said just keep stitching. We never expected good news as he almost bled to death getting him to the vet, 180 stitches latter, bone fragments removed, weeping straws hanginging out everywhere and leg in a cast we were happy enough to know we had a dog that may serve a few of our bitches in the future. He couldnt get around ALBION corner but still won in 22.90 run 8 wide around the home corner, and only wished the GOLD COAST was still around as it was a sloped corner. MAITLAND is friendly on his leg but if you get a chance to watch the race you will see he still has alot of trouble runing on that leg but as PETE will tell you hes a BLOODY GOER and just loves to run.
As i said in this post we kept the dog alive because we knew how good he would have been if not for the accident. We have no doubt he would have had a stud career if not for that the incident and as i said some 12mths ago he was always going to get some of our bitches. Im not pushing him down peoples throats and am more than happy to give free services to those that wish to take a gamble with him. One thing i will say though he wasnt supposed to race after the accident as it was a gamble allowing a dog with his injuries on the track and i can see why authorities were concerned about the possible comeback of TAKEOVER TARGET. I went against the better judgement of my vet/surgeon by racing him because his injuries were to severe apparantly to hold up to racing. Terry he will have to prove himself with limited stock for us to expect a flood of bitches but there are some that take me on my word in regards to wat he would have been and considering he showed a lot more than GNARLEY BOY early b4 his injuries only gives me more confidance of him producing, and also knowing wat characteristics his mum throws im sure i for one want be disapointed.... hope this helps
sorry togo of topic folks.

Thanks Mal,
He sounds like he was good.
If I'd asked you about him before, I apologise for not remembering. But QLD dogs don't get a lot of press here in VIC.
Good luck with the pups.

Serious question Mal,
I've never heard of Ivan Brown.
The best I can tell is that he won just 4 races from 12 starts.
I must be missing something because I can't understand why he is siring litters.
