Hello brian.
kelsos fusileer was just a average dog.it doesnt take much to go up in grade in the usa.he is by there former leading sire and broodsire
gable dodge.
most ire-uk dams that do go to the usa normaly produce.the price will be a factor??
as with silver jones allready here and better credentials and only served 2 bitchs.
with the aust $$ so high and the usa market slow unless your on a top stud farm and big owners they strugle to get bitchs.
anyway be interesting.

Hi Vicki maybe an average race dog but his position on the sires list
seems he must be doing something right at stud with minimal stock.

This dog is getting more breedings than any other young stud here in the US at the time. One of the top breeders here, Julia Ward, is breeding many females to him and he's quite popular. He's got a fantastic son racing named Kelsos Ace High that has beaten the "Triple Crown" winner, Flying Coal City, on two occasions with ease. Stay tuned...the best is yet to come. We have bred to him three times already.

Here is an article for him...was favorite leading into the Distance Classic before he was scratched due to injury. He set the season's best time at Derby Lane on two occasions:

And this is a good article that tells you about his running style:

He leads the meet with 11 victories. He has clocked six of the top-10 times at 660 yards, including a season-best 37.13 seconds on March 9. He specializes in coming from behind, rallying for 19 of his 25 career victories.

The distance-course dynamo has won 22 of 46 starts at 660 yards or longer. He is 3-for-16 at 550. Kelsos Ace High's pedigree is excellent. His sire, former sprinter Kelsos Fusileer, raced in the inaugural Derby Lane Million in 2006. Kelsos Picilino, his dam, was a marathon performer.

If Kelsos Fusileer was just an "average dog," I want a barnfull just like him. He was a multiple AA winner at Wheeling, our best track, when they ran no stakes races whatsover. He had three unlucky trips and was knocked out of the Derby Lane Million.

Silver Jones ran one length faster on his best night than Fusileer did on his, arguably on a faster track. If Fusileer was average, Silver Jones was only one length better than average, if at all.

In the end, the proof of a sire is his results, not his race record. Fusileer is rapidly becoming one of our most popular sires. Silver Jones' best pup has won 5 races from 18 starts and there is nothing else to speak of after him. Nobody here is lining up to breed from this dog.
