The Chiefs were at it again this morning off to have another run the result was very pleasing ....House Mouse went from the boxes for the 1st time only because she had been living here and we had given her 4 or 5 sessions of box practice...I sat in the back of the box with her and made sure she was comfortable and not too nervous ...she came out a little slow and then got into her stride pretty promptly she railed nicely and chased hard down the straight to the catching pen Jo clocked her at 11.46 which I thought was very good seeing she missed it some ...Bobby and Little Mel were slipped and their time was clocked off the slip they done everything ever so easy railed and chased very hard their slip times were 10.1 and 10.17 clocked from the hare hitting the back of the boxes line and that,s a tough watch but you have to make them run it .....I will know more over the next 8 weeks with the slip times as I will clock a few with Jo.
I think they will get another 3 or 4 runs and their last run will be over the 250m then it will be name and vaccination time and out to the farm for 5 months ...all up they will have had 6 or 7 runs max and 4 sessions of box practice

John, I think that these long explanatory replies should be confined to the MELENA BALE thread where they are more applicable, if every Cosmic Chief pup owner runs their commentary via this thread, it will become a nightmare to navigate through and is not the purpose of this thread.
Perhaps, a quick periodic summary on this thread and the complete rundown, as in this post, placed in your own Melena Bale thread is the way to go.

sounds great john,
i think you would be a classic at calling the rugby league games,
looks like bobby can gallop, all that hard work wayne put in will pay off we hope,
cosmic chief sure does produce a nice looking pup but when they can gallop thats another thing,
the pup we raised for john n jo we know he can gallop and lets hope a grp winner,

My couple broken in...chase their bums off but are limited ability wise.

Definately win races but no Bekim Bales that's for sure.

Johnathon what do you mean by that if one is going to judge a pups abilty on Bekim Bale or any other top grade dog well he is,nt going to race or even get too many in his lifetime.
I was asked last nite at trials about the Cosmic Chief pups and I did,nt know the man all I said was they come out nice chase hard and rail beautiful ...oh and 1 ran 14.15 for 250m not a Bekim Bale [maybe bekim could,nt run that at 10mths who knows] but at 10ths old and plenty of improving he could easily be half handy and the 2 girls were also in the ball park ...I am starting to put times together a littlle now and what I do know is this ....on education with a young pup if they go around the 14.1 at Murrays on Jo,s watch they are motoring and if he improves like another dog I had here well he is going to be more than handy

one thing i will say is that the black dog we raised for john and jo dont need the suger coating he is and will be a star.
at 7mths old he chased.
at 8mths old he chased.
he is just a natural pup who will go places.
i know its a big call but wayne has a huge opinion about him.
now weither it comes from the cosmic or melena part but this pup can run.
its only a matter of time and cosmic chief pups will be hitting the track.

I was actually talking to John about Rob's comment.

Rob's pups are obviously not up to his standard.

He is neither blaming the sire or his brood or spruiking how great his rearing is.

It has jack to do with you or Wayne's rearing.

He is telling people what they want to know.

His Cosmic Chief's don't look like being superstars right now, no sugar coating, Vicki.

Vicki it was only just the other day in another thread that YOU said yourself to Glenn that all pups look like Grp1 dogs when there young and all pups are keen and chase but now you have the ability to single one out and make the call.
You never cease to amaze me. Simply Amazing!

Thanks Sandro...mate, a question was asked about the Cosmic Chiefs and I answered it!

You know me well enough not to put any boom on a pup if it is not warranted. Just because my two here are average (at this stage), doesn't mean he won't become Brett Lee Mk2! I liked the dog, the bitch in reality, although superbly bred was only ordinary and in hindsight, wasn't good enough for me to breed with. SHe has gone home to the owner.

They are faultless pups...chase hard, great in the kennels, look okay but they are average...only babies so might improve. 14.5's and 14.6 at Glengarry.

The funny thing is, they are probably as good as JMAcs...the difference is, I tell it as it is! Who knows, these 2 bitches might be good enough for John...but for me, they are not dogs that I can sell that are worth good money.

I hope everyone who has a litter of Cosmic Chiefs gets a champ...just because these are C graders doesn't mean ALL of them are no good! Crikey...every sire on the planet throws some slow ones, don't they?

Repeat...they will win races for sure...but as far as buying me a penthouse at the Gold Coast, it won't happen.

that's disappointing Rob,was only just up on the Gold Coast and they've dropped the price of the penthouse in the new oracle building in Broadbeach to just 3.5 million was 6.2 million..
you'll have to wait for the next lot of pups coming through lol..
