Have you tried Solosite gel, Steven ? It is a brilliant healer, and so is Cetrigen wound spray. The latter is a purple colour, keeps flies away, and I can't recall a dog ever trying to lick it off, as it must taste awful ! Good luck.

Two of the best natural healing products are Manuka Honey and Coconut Oil
Both are Anti Bacterial - Resistant to infection
Manuka Honey needs to be bandaged and left until the honey dries which then closes the wound
To remove bandage simply soak in warm water and carefully remove dressing
Coconut Oil is ideal for abrasions and skin issues
It is also a natural wormer.
Dogs can lick Manuka Honey and Coconut Oil with no harmful effects - Unlike some medications.

ive always found hydrogen peroxide a great wound healer.simply clean the wound and dry it.then use an eye dropper to apply a few drops of peroxide and let it fizz up a few seconds.do this 3 times a day.dont smother with powder or cream and let fresh air onto it.ive cleared up some nasty wounds and deep sandburns doing this in no time at all.i swear by this method

Coconut Oil is great
Bacteria cant live in Coconut Oil
It is
Anti Fungal
Anti Bacterial
Anti Viral
Apply as often as required
No issue if the Greyhound licks the wound
For large wounds apply Manuka Honey wrap in a bandage and leave for a few days - To remove the bandage soak the wound in warm water to soften any remaining honey
You will find the wound has closed - Without stitches
With large wounds you may need a short second application

the dogs tongue has antibacterial and antiseptic qualities to it and as long as it is being kept clean by the dog constantly.....then anything you put on it is only interference and will diminish his own natural instincts to clean and heal it.
