Cough after drinking

I have a 2yr old bitch that coughs after drinking and dry reaches she has had her tonsils out 6mths ago any help or advice would be appreciated.

Adam, Is there anything added to the drinking water ?
Also, even though the tonsils have been removed, they can still get throat infections. Have you checked out her throat and the roof of her mouth for redness or ulcers ?
Sometimes they can get a fungal infection and this can be treated with Baytril, among other drugs, from memory. Your vet can take a throat swab to check for particular pathogens and then treat accordingly. Good luck.
