In my town Im the only person that owns a greyhound and today I was in the back of the boat packing up to go fishing with a cold beer in my hand, the kids running around screaming and the dog in the front yard when a lady came power walking past with her overweight blue heller and it ran up to my bitch and they done the usual sizing up and she said wow a greyhound, is it a rescue greyhound and I said no shes our girl, and then I nodded at her dog and said did you rescue the heller and your walking the weight off it and she just looked at me in amazement.
I quickly followed it up with shes an old greyhound I breed and I have another ten like her and we dont use the words rescued greyhound around here.
We then talked for awhile and she was obviously uncomfortable because I told her we have never put a dog down and hate how we are judged because antis put us all in the same basket.
She looked around and got my point and I look forward to talking to her again because Im sure Im actually the first person shes ever meet in the industry and I could just maybe change her opinion.
