Spot on, the likes of greyhound and pet world in limerick track and Cork track should ban red Mills as well, we need our own people to support our own.

How can they design a nut to meet a greyhounds specific needs don't support us but expect us to buy their product... sorry but if ye don't support Greyhound racing... Greyhound racing won't support ye...at the end of the day the Greyhound industry gives a lot more to redmills then redmills gives to the Greyhound industry.

To me, Red Mills is just a symptom of the problem and although you should tackle that symptom, your resources should be put into solving the source of the problem by changing public opinion.

The IGB have had ample notice of what to expect from the Anti's with events in Florida and NSW, yet they have not prepared the industry for the inevitable attack and the underhand methods the anti's employ. Welfare should have been their number one priority many years ago. To make matters worse they do not appear to be able to respond to the issues raised.

I would suggest that if the IGB are not going to support the industry then you should all put your differences behind you and collectively present the positive side in a structured way. There must be professionals from all walks of life connected to the industry, get them involved. Media presence will be essential, contact sponsors, liaise with Minister's and of course legal advice will be prudent. Prove that the events shown on the RTE program are the exception rather than the rule and make clear the intent to eradicate them.

As Tony has already said, show that Welfare is being seriously addressed and use the resources that GD is providing to record as much detail as possible about each and every retired greyhound.

If you pull together successfully then it could possibly become the basis for a new administration going forward.

How can igb annonce on website on 4th that red mills will sponsor laurels for next three years and now take it down. Surely they knew what was going on.????. Are igb trying to make a fool out of the real greyhound people or do they care at all???.

Pauline Mc Lynn and her troupe set to protest at Newbridge tonight.
Feelings running high right now. On another forum _ non greyhound_ someone asks the question if the TV stations lawyers were asleep at the wheel in letting this programme air given its inflammatory and biased nature

Does her superior empathy extend to other peoples children?

She's quite "shameless" about that.
Google her sharp exit from that show and you'll get some interesting information.
It may not be entirely true(she's always been welcome to contest it) but neither is much of what was aired on rte.

Back on topic. Red mills are a disgrace. Labelling everyone with the same brush. Their overpriced nuts should be boycotted by every greyhound owner and horse owner too.

This is not to discount the unacceptable wastage figures highlighted by rte. It's obviously not an accurate figure but even the true figure needs to be addressed. The IGB need to spend big on rehoming programs. And I mean a million at least or we're at nothing.

Nothing to do with this topic but how come after all stuff last year and with phil leaving and said be all new people in charge of board how come new chairman work under old one thats not new voice. Do goverment even care who they appoint to run our sport i seriously think not. Like all these statements been written should not have to be written if they done what was asked by greyhound people years ago. Do they think we all fools like. They wait till it breaks and then say oh we do this tat and other instead of fixing before it breaks. Al said i have bad feeling for our great sport and this all down to goverment in my opinioun as they appoint board. Rant over just sick of it now.

The people who filmed dogs being shot, should hang their heads in shame, they sacrificed a dogs life, for the sake of a program, did rte know a dog, was going to be shot, as regards red Mills, this is a knee jerk reaction and a good publicity stunt in one, all greyhound folk should boycott, anything red Mills and if any other company do it, boycott them to, when they start getting hurt in the pocket, they won't like it, greyhound racing is just stumbling from one fiasco to another, from Harold's cross to this, igb wake up and smell the coffee before it is too late

Newbridge tonight shame on you animal abusers chanted at all racegoers owners attending.
But... Stadium was rocking with a jammed restaurant / bar area.
Rumour that another big dog food company is pulling out doing the rounds.
Didnt notice any IGB official around rallying the troops so to speak or talking to the largely misled protestors.
The greyhound nation is very very annoyed with RTE.

Jim as Dave C has always said get rid of the cheats and greyhound racing will b e as good or better than any athletic sports. The only thing board members can smell is coffee big dinners and big salaries. The 400,000 machine can only get a trainer a ban if he gave the dog a cup of coffee tea or a disprin, give back that machine get your money back and it will go a long way towards Redmills withdrawal of sponsorship. The cheek of these scumbags who say all greyhound owners are cruel to their dogs and most of them never had an animal of any kind.. Some of the protestors never had a goldfish and some has but wont admit it..

Its horse food red mills are exporting to China. They need all of it they can get as its the largest horse meat market in the world.
No doubt red mills have verified that all those horses are humanely killed. Because otherwise they'd be massive hypocrites.

Simply unbelievable. If they relying on the Chinese government to make sure all animals are looked after they will wait a long time. There is no Animal Welfare Policy in China. This is why the Greyhound Racing Club of China (GRCC) have set up the first Greyhound Welfare Centre in China. Also we urge people NOT to send their greyhounds to China until such time as the illegal tracks are closed down and the GRCC is fully set up.

I am very disappointed and am now sorry I defended Redmills decision as this certainly appears to be having double standards. I will certainly let the Chinese greyhound owners know about the loyalty Redmills have shown to the Irish owners, breeders and trainers.

Redmill have stated today they are to stop sponsorship of greyhound racing in Ireland... Gutless b..t..ds... I have used Redmills all my racing career but NEVER AGAIN... If they are walking away from our sport because of rte programme then its time for us to walk away from them... There are a lot of decent, loving, caring owners and trainers being tarred with the same brush as the scumbags that were on that programme....
LETS SHOW THESE PEOPLE OUR INDUSTRY WONT LIE DOWN AND PLAY DEAD..

Agree 100%, theyve considered it fair game to tar everyone with the same brush, so, stop buying feed from a company that basically thinks that you must be an ar$ehole
